My Grandfather, and Stepfather both lost best friends by being broke down on the side of the road working on their vehicles.

I am familiar with the reported location, it is the Port Everglades Expressway where it goes over I95, just west of the Ft. Lauderdale airport. There’s a lot of traffic and it is very fast. For pedestrians, it is a no man’s land. I would not get out of my car there for love nor money. I wonder if his car broke down or he was trying to get to the airport to make a flight or what? This whole thing sucks bad.

Was looking forward to Haskins competition with Rudolph and Trubisky. This is tragic beyond belief. This is worse than Shazier and Rivera.

Yup, had an evasive driving instructor tell us he puts steel rims on all his cars so that if they have a flat they could drive on without worrying about ruining them to get to a safe spot to change tires well away from the roadway.

His philosophy was $60-$80 bucks for a new cheap rim was better than losing someone.

The lesson here is when you are broken down in a vehicle, you are suddenly thrust into a life and death situation, and you have to realize that. Too easy to not think about safety first as you are thinking about other things like being late for where you wanted to go.

Not even cops coming to assist are safe. We have all seen the videos where a cop is responding to a disabled car on the side of the road and some idiot goes off the road and nearly kills the cop.

I can't say if I'd be careful or not. I get the need to get the vehicle repaired and on its way. I will say I get pretty scared when I get anywhere near the white line with cars/trucks going 75mph. If I had the good fortune to get pulled a ways off the road, hopefully a deep shoulder, I might work on it, but man, even a few minutes changing a tire or checking something can be highly risky.

Good reminder for me, give a call to 911 or insurance company (help with getting a tow truck or help with gas or flat tire), or wait until a patrol car passes by and helps bring attention to your vehicle so folks will give a lot of leeway passing by.

And if you get out of the vehicle, get AWAY from it. Not next to it, not behind or in front of it, get away from it a good 15 or 20 feet (minimum).

With all due respect to Haskins...yes it is. QB depth is of great concern. Steelers will take QB in round 1 or 2. I hate the draft. Boring as crap. But this year, I'll be watching.

It sucks. We had 3 QBs with starting experience. Haskins played games for Foreskins. Rudolph played games for Steelers. Trubisky played games for Bears.

Willis has played ZERO games in the NFL.

Totally shredded about this, awful... but to comment on draft, it's Ridder, Andrew Luck light, at 20, due to unforseen circumstances, still processing

I know of one person that died on the freeway.

I also still remember very vividly changing my driver side rear on I-15 the interstate between Vegas and LA. I don't know why I didn't stop but I was scared as f**k the whole time. Just the wind gusts I was get from every passing car. Nuts.
