I’d be happy if they land Dart.

64 for allen in 7 years, 44 for fields in 4 years. 65 rushing TD's to 19. 195 passing TD's to 45. big difference in the two. he could cut down on fumbles but hasn't shown that yet. i agree allen is careless at times with the ball and he hasn't been to a super bowl yet either.

Hurts has 20 TD passes in his last 17 games, or 21 TD passes in his last 17 regular season games. So either way, he’s wrong. Hurts also averages nearly a yard more per pass attempt than Fields, and throws (and runs for) more TDs per pass/run.

I’m not saying that because I want to knock Fields, but these random people online can just cherry pick and/or make up numbers to fit a narrative. I didn’t bother to check on the other numbers.

I’m 90% sure that we are going to bet the 2025 season on Fields. I just hope that we don’t guarantee enough dollars to gamble 2026 and beyond. Fields has potential, but he’s going to have to play much better than he has during his career to date. I will be rooting for him, but my patience will wear thin if we see more of the same from him as the season drags on.

I think the fact that he has 19 is the bigger point, I know I didn’t think he had that many. Only 2 shy of Hurts who just won a SB. If they build an offense around him the same way, who knows, maybe he’ll thrive in it.

Waiting for the perfect QB could be a long wait.

I'm not sure he even makes it out of the first round at this point, though I did see a mock today with Sanders falling to the Steelers and them taking him. At least he's used to playing behind an offensive line that can't protect him. lol

Thats a key difference, IF they build an O around him. Philly has the line, the WR and TE, then got Barkley, and whatever stats +/- Hurts has over other QB's, in 2 SB's he has played his best ball.

Its going to be fun to see how this plays out. On Patrick yesterday one if the guys said of the recent 25 QB's taken in the draft Sanders only grades out higher than one guy...our old friend Kenny Picket, lmao. Now I honestly do not know what info or who he was using as a source, but the overall talk was that Sanders might be a decent college QB, has high football intelligence, could develop into a decent to very good pro, but he is not what you would call a traditional to 5 or even 10 pick. Then a reference was made to when Geno Smith was drafted, he was at one time the projected top pick, he went into the 2nd round. Sanders may indeed go early, or he may wait.

I'm not a fan. I didn't care for a mock that had them taking Sanders over Kenneth Grant, the interior defensive monster they need.

I'm not either. Someone said they are always waiting for a "prime' run when he in pocket trouble, thing is he got his mother's speed instead of his dad's, lol. In the right system and environment, he my do well. Do not think this is that environment.

Agreed. He's nothing special as a runner. He is good at buying time in the pocket. After seeing the beating he took the last two seasons, there is no question about his toughness. I just don't think he's anything special.

I only saw him play once. He had a good game.
But as I work with my fellow 'Talking Heads' there is a buzz about this guy.
If we had a TE that could impact the game the way Kelce or Gronk or Taysom Hill have.
The Steelers in the best years had reliable TE's. Pat just looks the part but disappears too much.

Agreed. Hurts was making beautiful touch passes, he was money.

Fields is a long shot and not likely the answer but he may very well be the best option at this point. So do your best to put him in a position to succeed.

I look at the list of FA qb's and just smh. I actually hope they can get a deal done this week, there was a tweet that came by today, 'Fields signs 2-3 year 33 million deal", of course fake and some Fields fan saying his sources said, but anything in that range is acceptable. Has he earned it (?), could the market pay him more (?), you can debate all day long, but you are going to spend money and the other options do not look good, so get it done and start the FA period with one less headache.

I would expect the money to at least be in the range if he’s expected to be our 2025 starter. That’s very low end starter dollars.

Definitely. I like Dart and Howard. It’s worth a dart throw. I’ll show myself out.

You just highlighted a big difference between Hurts and Fields. Hurts can throw with touch. Fields can't. He is four years into his NFL career and he still can't hit a touch pass. That is not something he is likely to be able to fix.

we could get rush, allen and mason for about 10 million between them and spend the money on DK and kupp for them to throw too. pick up dowdell to team with warren and draft OL, DL and CB. :hehehe::cool:

Sure, if you want to watch bad quarterback play sink an otherwise solid team.
