Good leaders spend most of the time....leading, encouraging. Critics have nothing to offer other than criticism. In other words, critics don't do!

Ever led a team of players, or employees? I have. Lots of personalities....some multiple.

 

I am actually confused by your take on this. Do you actually believe that negatives and deficiencies of any one player or group of players should not be addressed by coaches? In order for each personnel group to get better? I get that dwelling on the past too much is counterproductive but pointing out an area where a team can get better from year to year is not. And yes, I am a leader of grown ass men.

You're confused on my take? That's rich! I fully understand what means to listen to a coach reprimand or encourage me. The only way a coach continues is because you continue repeating the same miscues.

As far as dwelling on the past, I responded to a poster, who said he's a fan, talk about something that happened NINE MONTHS AGO during the 1st 8 games of the season!! The Steelers were certainly not playing well. But in the last 10 games they went 7-3. Tell me why it was necessary for the guy to post about ancient history? What does it solve? Is he a Steeler coach or a nobody like me?

FYI, I too was a GM, VP and President of a few companies each generating $1Bio+ in yearly revs. As an aside, I also played 4 years of college ball. Now that the gorilla grunts are over, maybe you could explain my confusion in big-boy words? Are you suggesting I don't know football?

Seriously, I never thought my post would be so controversial(post 136 and 138)...He doesn't even know me since he's new on this forum and all he did was to have a fight with me for nothing and say that I have an inability to talk football in post 166!

I understand that sometimes I'm a little too hard on Tomlin and Canada, but I'm sure many are worse than me, not just on this forum but elsewhere and I've been more careful lately

Hey, Bud. I entered this board seeking some reasonable football debate regarding the Steelers. Not interested to trod on trampled ground talking about stats from 9 months age not even germane to anything recent... it's ancient history. Now I'm the bad guy for taking issue? Sorry, not gonna happen. I grew up in Pittsburgh and have been a Steeler fan all my life. Got the chance to have my college education paid by playing football. The last thing I choose to do would be to insult the game or the team. Maybe I'm not good enough to be a current Steeler "fan"?
