Other thing I noted was not too many snaps under center for Allar. The PA is supposed to be a big part of the WCO. But I get it. Gotta get the player comfortable in a pro game and give him some layups out of the gun. Hard stuff to come later.

Yep. Just keep giving him what he can do, then start to challenge him more as his knowledge base and understanding grows and meshes with his mechanics and processing.

I think it's a work in progress. He certainly looked good doing what he was doing last night. Now build on that and see how far it goes.

In a perfect world, Rudolph continues to play well enough to be a good backup or good enough to attract a trade partner.

Will Howard continues to play well and show that he has a full grasp of the offense and the ability to run that offense at a high level. That means he has a chance to be the #2 or #3 quarterback and Rudolph becomes expendable if they want him to be. Howard shows that he may be able to handle being a starting QB in the NFL. If they think Howard's ceiling is too low, another team may have seen enough to get a good draft pick for him.

In my little perfect world, Allar continues to ace every test and balls out every chance he gets. He is good enough to take over as the #2 and ready to step in if needed to start his ascension to being the eventual starter and a high-quality NFL QB.

It would be wonderful if all the doubt about the quarterback room turned into a real team strength. We have a long way to go, but we can dream!

Actually it was 9-7 we were losing when Allar came in. Although Mason played well we didn't score while he was in. Howard led the team for a TD on an 80 yard drive in under 2 minutes. Allar was in for 3 drives and either threw or ran for a TD all 3 times.

    Correct.

Mason 2 drives, 0 points (1 three and out)... though we did have a TD called back due to a penalty. Ball moved on the second drive
Howard 3 drives, 7 points (0 three and out).. the TD drive was a nice two minute drill. Moved the ball to the middle of the field well
Allar 3 drives, 21 points (0 three and out, obviously)... First drive wasn't as impressive, as the first play was more on Wetjen's effort than Allar's slant, but he had a really great second drive. Multiple awesome plays. Third drive was pretty good too. He was all slants and outs, but maybe that's just what to expect from McCarthy.

It was a nice outing for the QB's, though no reason to jump the gun and get too excited just yet. Still two more games to go, and I hope we get to see both Howard and Allar with the 1's at some point

The last 61 yards were on Wetjen's effort, but it was glorious to see us on third and 7 throwing 13 yards down the field instead of 5 and praying the receiver can get the two extra yards.

Highlights dont tell the whole story though. Have to see the entirety of the performance in order to review him. Have to be objective.

The day Alan Saunders stops commiting his usual philisohphical category errors will be a day worth hoping for.
