And just to add, they will meet with approximately 60 people at the combine, and dozens more at pro days, and 30 formal meetings in Pittsburgh. Just because I miss someone doesn't mean that they haven't met with someone.

Maybe setting up that trade out of the first round effort, meeting with those two qb.

Keeping an eye on Anthony Miller too. He's the size of Washington and probably the same Rd. fichtner did make a trip to Memphis I remember to see his daughter graduate and was going to check out some old buddies I believe. There is a Memphis connection here. Ya never know.

I'm starting to rethink this draft some. With the Wilcox talk and Bryant talk, things may not go down like most on here think. A couple of new D coaches a new OC, maybe Landry and his contract are being rehashed. That's a mil and a half nearly. Lots of talk of top RBs too being looked at. OLB. Interesting.

If you guys see someone I missed, feel free to add him, and I'll adjust it accordingly.

I would not rule out taking a TE in Round 1. It's no secret we've been looking at them for a few years now and that Max Williams would have been a Steeler if not for the Ravens.

I really like Goeddert. I think he' going to be a great receiving TE.

I'm sure Ben wouldn't mind another big target.

What? A TE in round 1 wouldn't be a good move, they can get by with Vance and Jesse. Too many holes on defense to draft offense in the first round.

It's not at the top of my list but there's a reason we've had interest in taking a TE since Heath retired. We've met with a lot of the top guys at the Combine already.

What is you opinion on Vance, do you feel the Steelers are looking TE cause he is to much money or do you think JJ is the odd man out? I just feel like we are looking at TE's but we have 3 signed, thoughts???

Our TEs are weak. ILB class is thin, and likely picked over by our first round pick. Good safeties will likely be there @ 28, but so could a top TE. So I think they're just being diligent, as a TE could be their BPA at 28.

I really like Vance. I dont' think he's a pro bowler but he can be a good receiving threat.

JJ is a good mix of blocking and receiving.

Grimble is ok but nothing special.

I think alot of it comes down to Vance's health. He needs to keep on the field.

I still think we traded for him almost as an emergency. I truly believe Colbert always has a TE on his min in top 2 rounds.

I disagree about the ILB class, I think while there isn't the sure 1st round talents there is quality up and down. Leonard(1st-2nd), Worley, Cabinda, Smith all are guys that have shown flashes of fitting our system the little I have watched. Other guys like McCray, Burks, Scales and Young(UCLA) are all guys I have seen a little on and like.

They met with 8 TE last year and didn't draft any of them, teams meet with a lot of players doesn't mean anything.

I thought I read a stat last year that we haven't drafted a guy in the first 2 rounds that we haven't met with. Not sure exactly what it was but there was something like that in the draft take.

I have a good feeling about Baker, I think they are going to draft him and move him to ILB.

Man they met with so many TE's? But then again, they could use an all around solid TE who is a threat in the redzone.

I liked Baker during the season but the more tape I watch of him the more scared I get.

There is no doubt he is the best cover LB in the draft. And pairing him with Vince Williams does make a nice match.

That being said, Baker is a finesse LB. He's not one for a lot of contact. If the Oline gets hand on him, it' over.

Not good in the run game at all. But he is a fine run and chase LB who can cover any slit or TE.

He's not my type of LB, but the fit may work. Him and Vince are kinda polar opposites.

I just got done watching the Oklahoma game, I have not heard of Baker and now I know why. I figured watch the game he is playing with the most talent and I figured going vs Mayfield was as good as it gets. Baker was a non factor, he gets taken out of the play way to easy. Once he locks up with the oline he is done, I saw a few times where the RB went right by him. Also OSU was playing a lot of zone and he just wasn't part of the play. I saw Baker let the RB run right by him untouched in the red zone only to be open for a TD. On another TD he couldn't cover the RB and Mayfield put it in there. I saw to much standing around the pile from him, feel free to take a look and not take my word for it:

Additional thought on Baker - once Shazier went down I really started looking at potential ILBs and Baker in the 2nd was one that immediately came to mind.

He will blow up the combine today athletically. But other than as a cover LB, I'm not sure if he is a fit. So much awful tape of Baker.

Here is a name that I haven't watched much on yet but everything I read says he is a pass coverage ILB, Kenny Young UCLA. The problem I have with these types of guys is they offer nothing in the run part of the game. I watched guys like McCray, Cabinda, Smith and Worley offer both and these are the guys I would rather us focus in on, run and pass defenders.

fred warner is a guy you need to watch too. i really like this kid. i'll give you a couple of more to watch and we may be able to get them late. both from TCU. nick orr at safety and travin howard at LB. i would be pumped if we got these 3 players. they make plays and thats what we want. sleepers in the mold of mike hilton type play makers. fill my defense with those types any day.

Cabinda is a stiff, he's a late round type of guy.

He had a pretty good shrine game, what are you basing your opinion on? I like late round guys these are the type of players that can put team way over the top. I am not a guy who likes to talk much about the 1st rounders, everyone knows about them I want that mid to late round guy who can turn into something.
