All I know is that when he stepped on the scale in his t-shirt and shorts, at the NFL combine, he was 6'1 and weighed 173 pounds. Not the 6'2 and 185 Clemson had him listed at.

Jones was an all-PAC 12 guard. If he’s someone we can pick up in the 6th or udfa, why not?

1st....a athlete weight will aways fluctuate. Many times even in boxing, and other combat sports which the weight for each fight is mandatory.....what You weigh the during the weigh in is not what You will weigh the day/night of the fight.
2nd....in the new NFL as you can see by rule changes against the Defense every time You turn around....A CB doesn't need to be as much a tackling machine as before.....you need a guy to cover, int, and break ups.
3rd....He hasn't even come into His man body yet....He will put on about 10 pounds of muscle at the very least within a year , or two.

Adonai Mitchell came in for a visit apparently.

I could see them taking him in the second easily.

Well, the combine was held before his pro day, it was reported he came in light at the combine to run faster.

Steelers need to trade back and pick up another pick. JPJ can be had around 30. Brian Thomas JR. will also be a fantastic pickup.
This WR corp is trash right now.

there are options for the steelers. if the right guy falls to them they will take him. if he is not there they will take a different position. they can still look to free agency to fill certain roles at any of the positions of need. i don't think they are in panic mode like some on this board.

They would have to trade up picking at 22. Can't wait to see what happens only two weeks away.

Tyler Guyton come in today, another trade back RT option?

If they get to #20 and you still have Mims, Latham, and Guyton still on the board do you trade back knowing 1 of these players will still be there when you select again?

He better if he wants a career in the NFL. Can you picture him
tackling a 230 lb running back?

They'd have to commit to JPJ at 20. I don't think Philly would put the draft capital into moving up in the first to grab a center, but if if they did, they can have him.

I was big on Blake Fischer in the third (still am), only before free agency I was pushing corner in the first. We still need at least a solid nickel CB, but now there's glaring hole in the middle of the line needs to be plugged.

    Same here!

Love me some Cooper! Just not sure if the Steelers nab him. Both Tomlin and Kahn were at Iowa's Pro Day a year earlier so perhaps they got some info there. In addition, Andy Weidl did scout one of the games this past season.

Long story short, it is roughly lining up with what @steelersrule6@steelersrule6 stated months ago; prepare for "Moore of the same".... for better or worse. For that matter, I myself was along this line of thinking long before he brought it up; even if the Steelers nab a natural Right Tackle, they wouldn't be giving said player the starting position anyways until that player proves they can knock off Dan Moore into a swing role; that or injury... knocking on wood for Moore.

Should that happen, expect a trade up in Round 2; doubly so if someone like JPJ is somehow, someway, available. Yes, yes, Centers are not historically valued highly enough but JPJ is way too gifted a player to pass up. That said... there are some odd rumors now coming out regarding some injury related concerns; namely concussions....

... does anyone have any info on that?! I couldn't find much.

I heard one of those guys in the Steelers media say they knew about JPJ injuries since the combine, I don't remember what exactly his injuries were.
