Doom and gloom

The Steelers haven't even played a real game yet this season, but the sky is falling, the Debbie Downers are in rare form . This place is going to be unbearable after their first loss .

 

This is kinda a tough season to project. This offensive line is just putrid and could make or break the season. The offense got a ton of weapons but what good are they when the QB is on his back and the RB can't reach the LOS. Defensively, Bush is make or break as well. He showed some signs of being more aggressive. I hope he keeps that up or a guy like Mark Robinson will be taking his place. Run defense still concerns me. I'm still sticking with my 9-8 prediction, but this could swing from 6 wins to 12 wins depending on this line, QB play, and our rush defense.

Well worth stating if well stated

Say it over and over and you are just bitching

Some people here just do nothing but complain repeatedly no intelligent thought added

Saying it over and over with poor thought just shows a poor ability to think

Some people post just to get attention they are pathetic

Some I think have low mental capacity and depression

It’s typical of society in general

All bell curves have a far left side

The middle and right side of the curve still make this a great board

I've battled depression for all my adulthood and really battled it the past 6 years. Football and talking football is one of the few things that bring me joy and something to look forward to. I try my best to look at things as objectionably as possible. We're not as awful as the doom and gloomers think.

 

You're not alone. It's a stupid crazy world we live in right now. If it weren't for my family I would have already been done with it.

 

My overly simplistic POV thinks that I would rather have lived 10K years ago chasing deer with a spear than worry about bills and our current way of life. shrugs

 

I just want to go back to the 80's and have a do over. I'm sure the 50's were even better though.

 

Every team bar maybe a handful have doubts about their rosters, weak spots, injury concerns etc and it’s natural for fans to complain.

I like the Steelers roster and am optimistic for the most part but the OLine is a massive worry and has the potential to hold back what could be a very good and innovative offence. They have a really nice group of skill players and a promising young QB. Even Mitch will allow them to expand the offence a bit from what it was with Ben, even though we all know his ceiling is low.

If the OLine can get to below average rather than being a total liability I don’t see why the Steelers can’t have a winning season

 

It it's people who are not regulars, imo.

 

So I see you met my sister who loves the Steelers. She calls me Debbie Downer all season long. We could be down 30 points with 5 minutes left and if I say game over she gets on my case.

 

Sort of

For those of us who have been around for years we recognize a bunch of them

They disappear for months or longer and then when they find an opportunity to just be negative they climb out

Once one does a bunch do

Kind of like cockroaches

Then if a light comes on they scurry away until dark

A couple of years ago we won 11 games or something and not a peep just good pro/con conversation

Then we lost one game and the flood gates opened

Some people are miserable I feel sad for them

 

Why don't you just admit you love Benny Lava?

That’s my wife. Steelers down by 3 scores with 1 minute left and she will say “why are you always so negative!? Theres still time… and you call yourself a fan?”

 

They're upset we won our pre seasons

I always love when they just miss the playoffs and the spousal response is "It's just a game".

I think the reason some
People are Debbie downers on this team is we are not that far away from being in the elite part of the afc but after watching the three preseason games and all of last years lol. It is obvious that the oline is not just bad, it is historically horrific and the worst in the entire nfl. Many plays had the offensive lineman pushed four yards in the backfield and they brushed aside like a high school player on pass downs. Until we actually draft a o lineman in first two rounds or sign real free agents fighting for wild card year and getting boat raced in first round is our ceiling

 

I have a hard time understanding how some people get so angry over this team, especially when a meaningful game hasn't been played. I love this team as much as the next guy but when I realized my attitude affects my family as much as it does, something needed to change. Now, when the game is done, it's time to be over it. Which isn't always easy but it's necessary for my well being.
This world pisses a person off enough as it is without letting things you can't control get you to lose your sh!t.

Steelers fans threw garbage on Tommy Maddox lawn after he botched the Jaguars game 20 years ago. Steelers fans aren't sewer rats like Eagles fans, but many of them are crying, whiny, bitches. It's science.

 

You should just boycott that game. If nothing else, just to prove it can be done.
