Colbert get on the phone to Marshawn Lynch, ask him if he wants to win Super Bowl :hehehe:. Probably not Lynch but they could use another veteran in case of injury to DeAngelo Williams.

fitz got a good bit of experience last year under fire and in the playoffs. thats a pretty decent duo we have back there. we may see one of these young guys get a lot of preseason carries too, just in case. a guy like todman would be helpful though.

I thought Fitzgerald Toussiant did a great job in the playoff game against the Bengals and was doing a great job against Denver right up until he fumbled.

    For the Bell Suspension

    1. Williams
    2. Toussaint
3.Who ever wins it in camp.

If someone gets hurt see who is out there.

Lynch is just shell of his former self, pete carroll said he was always injured last season because father time had caught up with him, if Arian Foster can get back in shape for camp he could be worth a 1 YR vet mini deal but he needs to get in shape after rehabing from a torn achilles which got him cut by the texans, other wise there could be some veteran backs released by other teams during camp that could be signed.....

The selfish part of me wants them to sign a veteran running back. The dude that played for the Giants last year I think could be a good fit. They have to sign somebody don't they?

Foster signed with the dolphins and Lynch isn't a FA he's still under contract with the Seahawks.

Why do we have to sign a running back? Aren't all the "experts" agreed that the NFL is a passing league now?

Other than D-Will and Toussaint, I can't think of another RB Pittsburgh has. This is excluding fullbacks Nix and DJ. Probably a depth concern unless they're prepared to promote one of their practice squad guys

If Bell was going to miss the season, I'd agree that they probably need a veteran. But, for 4 games they could get by without one. Though I'd keep my eyes open for a serviceable guy who might become available if teams decide to dump an older vet for salary cap reasons.

D Will shouldn't play in the preseason, give Touissant and Stingly all the carries.

Just out of curiosity, off of what shelf is this wonderful veteran running back we should sign stored?

Real steel, no response required. I'll just assume what you have in mind. :smiley1:

    Lynch retired last month:

In an interview set to air on Showtime Tuesday night, Marshawn Lynch confirmed he is retired.
"I'm retired," Lynch said. "Is that good enough? Which camera do you want me to look into? This one? I'm done." There had been speculation Lynch was considering a return, but this should finally put the issue to bed. Lynch finished his career with 9,112 rushing yards, the 36th-most in NFL history.Jun 6 - 12:21 PM

I wouldn't mind a Bush either, he is a shifty read your hole type back like Bell . He is also very good in the passing game just like Bell..He may be even better than Bell on swing passes and screens ....O.K. I convinced myself we need to sign Reggie...

Yup, turned 35 in February. Good guy, works hard. But he gained a grand total of 100 yds on the ground last yr. He surely can't have much left
