We've been grooming this guy for 2 years now to be the back up QB, the Steelers picked him for a reason, because he fits Haleys system and he has continued to improve.

My hatred for Vick aside, Landry should be the #2, he's better suited for it. Now maybe that is the goal and they just think he needs more seasoning and Vick is a stop gap, but if Ben gets hurt and Vick goes in, they have to scrap the entire offense.

Should just roll with Landry, see what he can do behind a starting line and Bell, AB, Bryant, Heath. Think the results would be a tad better.

Jones showed some improvement. He isn't ready to be a number 2.

I agree. I think Jones showed alot more this year although his accuracy is still questionable.

He also took the most snaps of any QB in the preseason and played the most minutes. Don't be fooled by preseason stats, they lie.

Rex Grossman was released. Better than Vick and would appease the fan base more.

Dude get real, Landry has shown some improvement but he shouldn't be the #2 QB. The Steelers feel the same way that's why they signed Vick, I don't think Vick is that good but he's better as the #2 QB in the short-term.

 Vick has sucked since 2011 so don't know what you are basing your evaluation on.

Jones has gotten better. The QB's coming from a mostly shotgun spread offense in college seem to struggle a lot unless they can run well. In that type of college offense they trow to a predetermined WR a lot and there isn't much reading going on. It's as if they are learning anew position when they come to the NFL.

I'm not saying Vick is a great player, but he could probably be adequate with the talent the Steelers have on offense. The Steelers aren't going to trust Landry as the #2 QB he has never taken a snap in a regular season game.

I know. I'm just stating what I'd like to see out of the two choices they have. And Vick might do a better job here than he did with the Jets because of the talent but I would think Landry would also fare better playing with those guys then what we have seen from him so far.

But, I don't want to see either one of them on the field, so here's hoping Ben has another full season.

I just seen this, I guess this was the only way Tomlin could get Vick to come onboard. :lolol: Vick's not near ready to step in.

All I can say is the more reps Landry gets the better off him and the Steelers are. He needed it.

Let me get this straight the things some of you are knocking Landry Jones for are also very true of Vick but somehow he is the better of the two? I am not sure I buy that logic.
