Does trading Pickens mean the end of us signing Rodgers?

Seems like from what I've read most Steelers fans don't want Rodgers anyway, but I thought with him, Pickens, and Metcalf the Steelers would've had the best chance of winning a playoff game ever since Ben retired.

I think Rodgers would still want to come here ... if he wants to still play, we are probably his only option, every other team that needed a QB got one, plus ... he probably has the ego that he thinks his arm talent is enough to get by with just DK.

Me personally ... I want Rodgers. I just can't stomach a season of Mason Rudolph.

Only way I see them go with Rudolph is if they are tanking for next year.

Pray that this is the case! His own family doesn't like him.

I'm not sure it means either. I think ARod already knows what he's doing. He's just not committing publicly either way. I would bet he made his decision long ago. Even if he says otherwise.

That doesn’t mean anything most of my family doesn’t like me

Ok maybe that wasn’t a good example

If Rodgers still hasnt decided, this won’t help drawing him here.

have heard it so many times in many different sports settings from different athletes. if you are thinking or speaking retirement, do it. Besides the quirky and just plain weird crap, you really have to wonder how much heart he puts into this. Not that we as a team are in this place, but I saw an aging and pretty depleted Manning take the Broncos to a couple of Championship games and a SB win. Heart and smart can get a lot done with a talented team, not sure he has the heart and really struggling if anyone at the top has the smarts lol.

You're probably right about Rodgers already knowing what he's going to do, despite of the Pickens trade. I think the Steelers will be working hard to sign/trade for a #2 WR, or at least they should be. I prefer Rodgers over Rudolph myself, it would be more interesting to me. Rodgers might be waiting for the Steelers schedule to come out before he finally signs.

It means that we are signing Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb as well as Rodgers

Lazard isn't a free agent. He is still under contract with the Jets.

I'm going to be even more disgusted if they trade for Lazard, giving up what little advantage in draft capital they got from the Pickens trade.

I know. I was only joking. Cobb is retired too I think?

Lazard seems to follow Rodgers around and Cobb was always a favourite of his.

The idea of Rodgers at QB isn’t appealing to me and in some ways I’d like for them to just stick with Mason bur I know that’ll get old real fast when by week 5 the offence can’t move the ball.

I do expect Rodgers to sign with the Steelers at some stage soon, and hopefully they bring in a receiver too

I rarely post but thought I would on this topic. I can’t recall if was “Schein on sports,” the Herd, or another syndicated show on Sirrius FM but the opposite was reported.

Rodgers supposedly (almost) refused to play w/ Pickens. While GP is talented, Rodgers has a disdain for those who are lazy and take off plays. Also Rodgers was aware of Pickens missing, or being late, to practice, team meetings, and even catching a flight for away games.

I think it was the Herd who said Rodgers would like to team up with Lazard in Pittsburgh.

Those here in Nashville sports talk say Rodgers to Pittsburgh is a done deal. In fact, one said Rodgers will announce later May or early June to avoid (volunteer) mini camp workouts.

Interesting theory not sure if it's true but it would make sense.
