I've been saying this since last year some time. Worilds just plays much better on the left. He needs to stay there at all costs.

I think it matters because their is no way we resign him. He will make a ton of money next year as a free agent signing with someone else.

If he would of shined two years ago, we probably could of sign him on the cheap and solidify our depth.

He's looked great ever since coming back in for Jarvis. All over the place today.

One thing you're missing: the #2 TE is not a starter. Until Heath Miller is gone, Eifert would have been a part-timer (unless we revamp our offense to always have two tight ends, which handcuffs us in other ways, like benching Cotchery/Wheaton/Will Johnson). Of course, Jarvis Jones is currently a part-timer as well, but the FO was assuming that Worilds would be off the team sooner than Miller, which was a pretty safe assumption. Whether he played great or terrible, Worilds was likely to leave in 2014, be it signing a big contract or just being let go. We'd need a replacement. Plus, Jones was seen as a very special player. And he is. He's getting better; it's not an easy transition into our defense, even from a 3-4. Cam Heyward played in a 3-4 and he didn't set the world on fire as a rookie. Look at him now. Jarvis has even more potential.

Worilds was really all over it today. Maybe he's at least trying to audition for another team. I'm sure after today the clowns might just come calling. LOL.

I think that Woodley would be great as an inside linebacker in the Levon Kirkland roll. He played the buck but the roll reversed when Farrior played Buck and Foot had the same responsibilities as Kirkland, destroy the blocker.

Worilds is better than Woodly at one tenth the cost.

If he'd shined two years ago and continued to shine, then wouldn't we be paying a hell of a lot more for him come contract negotiations?

    Or have I misunderstood you?

Probably not as much as he will cost us as a free agent. Just imagine if we would of let Brown get to the end of his contract. He would of cost us much more than he did.

I heard Cowher left the name on a post-it note for Tomlin to find.

Worilds, needs to stay on Woodley's side, for whatever reason he is 10X the pass rusher from that side. I'd move Woodley over, and maybe have Jarvis spell them both when they get tired to keep everybody fresh.

For comparisons sake... Victor Butler was a OLB behind Demarcus Ware last offseason that we brought in for a visit. He'd played well but only saw the field during injuries (sounds like Worilds right?).

Butler eventually signed with the Saints for 2 years 3 mil. I'd take Worilds for that and a little more in a heartbeat... but he probably wants to go where he knows he'll start.

Personally I wrote something this morning, I'd trade Woodley for a 3rd and re-sign Worilds.

I have no problems with Worilds and thought he was getting a lot of undeserved negative comments about his play. I think he's starting to show his worth and people are noticing. Woodley on the other hand hasn't shown us much lately other than he gets injured often. And with JJ getting more reps and experience I think this OLB tandem is going to look really good by the end of the season.

He owned his guy today. He was pushing him back on almost every play!
