Actually we knew even before he suggested combining RB and WR money. We saw this coming when he started rapping "Ima need 12 million"or whatever figure he rapped after his rookie season

Someone that knows more about this than me, how can the Steelers F him?

I mean at this point besides hoping he tears his ACL running to the strip joint what can the team do to cause him as much damage as possible.

    I hate this POS

Best thing to do at this point is to try and find a way to move him. I know it seems unlikely. But there has to be a way to do it. Perhaps we can do a sign and trade where another team takes on the responsibility of the tag for the first year. Like I said, there has to be a way. As long as we get some sort of value in return that works for me.

If we can not trade him just rescind the tag. Anyone who thinks Bell is going to come in and allow his wheels to be run off, as some put it, is crazy. Eventually he will have to sign, but there's no rule that says he has to perform.

I'm crazy I guess. With that ego, he will want the ball in his hands as much as possible imo

Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey says Le'Veon Bell will be here for Wednesday's practice. "Count on it," he said. Adds he hasn't been told that directly but Bell the competitor won't be able to stay away.:rolleyes:

How is he dumb? It isnt about being rational. It's just Pitt doesnt give out guranteed money up front like some teams do. Look at the raiders and khalil mack. They thought 90 million was a joke but the bears said yeah ok. Look at what Odell just got. Ab only got 19 million guaranteed to his 65 that I'd guranteed. Pitt will give the money OVER THE LONG HAUL but not upfront. Leveon wanted it up front.

Failure to perform lessens his market value considerably. He wants that big money and knows he needs those big stats to get that big money.

Your post lost any credibility when you said it's not about being rational.

Mack didn't tank on the Raiders last season. It is one thing for Bell to hold out to miss part of the season, but if he refuses to play or dogs it on purpose when he does sign, that will affect his value.

The only thing the Steelers can do is wait and then run him into the ground when he returns.

The problem is that teams are now using guaranteed money to cheat the cap so to speak. But it is absurd to give a player gobs of money for a job that they have yet to perform. It gives the player too much leverage even though injury is a realistic concern for them.

Then that's the case players who were drafted shouldn't get anything at all. At least current players have proved themselves on a nfl level...

Bell didnt take last yr either. Mack though was holding out well into the offseason just like bell currently is.

Some of you number guys can verify or break it down for us other yinz ers if you You'd like but I've read a few things stating that the O's avg numbers are the same if not better with bell out of the lineup so what's the big loss? We've won and lost both with and without him during the season and in the post season. Their overuse and over reliance on him has stymied the O in the past I believe. Just my opinion but I'm all in on a sign and trade or a flat out tag rescinding. I'd rather either way that he don't just show up and get the reigns right off the bat as he ain't ready and others busted their butts to be ready game 1.

If the Steelers can get a first rounder for Bell, I think they should make the deal. I fully believe Conner would do great behind this O line.

May be they could swing a trade and somehow get a starter quality player in return. May be a good ILB or OLB.

Sigh...true I guess. It's complicated. I guess it speaks to the obscene amounts of money the NFL makes.

I've been asking this question for 3 years now.. noone has been able to convince me that we NEED bell to win. I ask all the time.. tell me the last time a team a team that had a RB that commands that much of its teams cap space won the superbowl... now tell me How many of the last 20 superbowl champs not names the pats won with a solid defense, a balanced offense a franchise QB and good offensive line.

I didn't hold this opinion when I thought Bell would show today, but if he only comes in Wednesday, sit him for week #1.

    It's Cleveland.

Let Conner rack up 150 yards from scrimmage.

    1) His teammates dont pay his salary and 2) why would they do something that would be a detriment to their own future status?? Players would do well to work together not against each other...especially when it comes to contract negotiations. Anyone who continues to think teammates should go in on Bell are completely clueless as to how this works.

Look at their record without Bell...maybe then you'll get a clue. Take into consideration his touches in relation to the rest of the offense and if the other RBS can do what he does (blocking, catching, running). His production is undeniable not to mention he never fumbles.

Nothing irrational about his statement...just depends on who you're talking about. Clearly it wasnt that irrational or explain to us how Gurley got how much he did??? Or are you just not paying attention?? Guess you're the dumbass since he proved you wrong.

The only problem I have with your statement is the "more then he deserves part". There 29 teams I guarantee would give Bell the same money Gurley got.

Dang man you’re coming in hot with the “Clueless “ and “Dumbass” name calling.
Yeah I get the whole stick together thing to get more money, but when you’re being unreasonable and my success is tied to yours and you’re not showing up I’m going to be pissed.

I only quoted what others said about Bell. Now that I say it about them I'm the one coming in hot??? And he's not being unreasonable when Gurley got the exact same money Bell was asking for...was Gurley being unreasonable??? Ezekiel Elliott may get even more than that. The only reason its unreasonable is because the Steelers have more superstars to pay. So the money he's asking for is unreasonable only based upon circumstances not because he doesnt deserve it....big difference.
