Dobbs with a run game and mix in some playaction/deep shots to Claypool can win this game. Rudolph still has no zip on his ball. Rudolph it will be run, run, and hope Rudolph can complete a pass. They get down in downs he's going to get injured or throw a lot of ints. Play Dobbs!

Dude, some on. At least post pics that are a bit equal. Your bias is obvious, Dobbs looks like a rocket scientist, MR looks like he is amazed at the rocket Dobbs is flying.

So you're going to run a non-biased poll proceeded by your own biased thread? Sounds familiar in these times

Start Rudolph, but get Dobbs some snaps. If the big guy can't go, you have to get creative.

Regardless of who is named the starter, Fitchner needs to take off the training wheels and let them play.

Is there anything scarier than Mason Rudolph on 3rd & long dropping back to pass?

I don’t know but Rudolph will start in place of Ben. The organization has stated many times he is backup and eventual successor to Ben so they will ride with him. Dobbs wasn’t brought back to compete with mason he’s strictly third string.

They won some games with Mason last year and I think the players that would be around him in the offence are better this year. Dobbs has no record of playing or winning games in the NFL. Mason is the obvious choice if it comes to it. It’s a long way from ideal but he was always likely to have to start a game at some point with Ben being 38 and coming off an injury, and then Covid mixed in it etc.

If the team had a consistent running game I’d be less concerned but I don’t trust them to run the ball when they have to. If Rudolph is in it’ll be on the defence to win the game for the most part.

Neither. Run wildcat all game with our running backs. Never throw a pass all game.
Can we get Antwan Randel-El or Hines Ward out of retirement for 1 game?

Come on. Mason is not the successor. Unless they wanted to tank for the year and hope for whatever star QB would be coming in that following draft.

Steelers should trade for Fitzpatrick in Miami, just in case.

Sadly ii did'nt see enough of Rudolph before he got hurt to know if the bad things i see now were always there or if its cause of the hit he took. The one thing i saw that i do remember is that he seemed very gunshy even before the hit. I don't know if and when the game will slow down for him but the brief amount i saw sunday looked like it has not slowed down for him yet. His arm looked very suspect. Looked weak and no touch at all. Maybe there's Rust maybe there isn't i don't know. I can tell you if he plays even 1 full quarter looking the way he did its going to be a long day. DB's will sit back and jump his passes all day long.

And if he is the successor to Ben this team is screwed. I was excited for the guy when we drafted him but he does not look NFL ready at all. And before anyone says we won with him, we won in spite of him. One of the few times that Tomlin and Fichtner actually game planned to peoples strengths (or lack of in Masons and ducks cases). Lots of trick/gadget plays. I dont feel confident about Mason being under center for anything but the scout team or when ben needs time off from practice.

Fichtner IS the training wheels in the Steeler play book. Hell if Ben listened to him all the time we would be shouting for Charlie Batch to come out of retirement

MR is the back up. Personally, if they are going to dress Dobbs, then he's a potential weapon with a different skill set than any other QB on their roster. Getting him 10 or so snaps could be an advantage.
