So no one on the OL is salvageable? Typically O-lines do not break down quickly without more than one factor coming into play. You claim they stopped running because the OL couldn't block. Really? That happened quickly. Look at Connor's stats for example.

Over the first six weeks of the season (six games played), Connor rushed 95/495, 4.7 YPC. The remainder of the season (seven games for Connor) he ran 74/270, 3.6 YPC. While the 1.1 YPC decline isn't good, 3.6 isn't all bad, and an argument can be made that part of the reason for his late-season decline was due to the reduction in commitment to the run: Connor went from averaging 15.8 Att/Gm in his first six games to 10.5. And it wasn't just Connor. As a team the Steelers averaged 31.8 Att/Gm over the first five games to 19.5 over the remaining eleven, never touching 30 in a game over that span.

Pouncey may be done. But at 31 he's not ancient either. He does, though, carry an $8M cap next season, which is a lot, especially with next year's cap. Other members of the line may need to be replaced as well. But I think scheme definitely played a part, and that makes it harder to pin the blame on just who has to go because of a sub-standard running game.

I would be very careful with Heyward. Sure, there's money to be pushed on his contract, but he's 32. He could start seeing decline in the next couple of seasons and the Steelers are going to have enough dead money on the books if they're looking at displacing Ben's $19M this year.

IMO, they should look at productive extensions first (Tuitt, Nelson, DeCastro, e.g.).

If you look at the Steelers starting 5 from last year it’s hard for me to say any of them played well. AV Pouncy and DD all looked like they got old real fast and when it came to run game push were almost non existent. Feiler and Chuks were uneven at best. Dotson was the only guy that played above par in my opinion. I just don’t see how this unit can be fixed in one years time?

    LT?
    LG Dotson
    C?
RG DD (hope he was injured last year and not just turning to ****)
RT Chuks maybe he goes LT?

Assuming we lose AV or he retires and Pouncy retires we draft either a LT/RT or C rd 1 and plug and play it still leaves us a starter short and that’s assuming the rookie is solid year 1. I also don’t trust DD or Chuks after this season so we got some serious work to do here.

No my point about gronk is because he quit while in NE but came back to paoyw tih Tampa because eof brady? Why? Because brady makes it his business to keep everyone happy. Ben doesn't and thinks he above everyone.

I think the reason has more to do with Brady offering the best chance at a ring, plus they are good friends.

People want to play with Brady because he’s been to 10 SB’s. It’s a really bizarre theory that Brady goes above and beyond to make people happy. Brady is probably harder on his teammates more than anyone, he demands perfection. You make it sound like he takes them out for cupcakes after practice.

I mean he did let AB live in his house and literally did whatever he could to appease him and make him happy. I doubt Ben was letting that happen.. And brady must not have been playing when gronk retired a year ago.

LOL he has a mansion, I’m sure he meant the guest house and it was just an offer, didn’t actually live with him.

I don’t understand the Brady/Gronk comment. He retired and got the itch to play again.

It seems too convenient to say they all ran smack into their career effectiveness wall all at the same time, but it was ugly. They likely drop Pouncey let Villanueva go. I'm not against either move, just want Klemm to re-instill the hunger behind guys flattening the opposing line and Canada to bring the balance back.

Implying that Defense did not help?! Was that defense simply there for the ride then?!

Overrated at Ohio St and a punk to boot. Do you remember his little cryfest at the draft because the Giants passed him up and picked Danny Dimes? Chip on his shoulder because he thought he was disrespected but he hasn't proven jack. I'll believe it when I see it, Blast.

Yeah hope is good and without it, our lives would really suck.

I had a drill Sgt in basic that said, hope in one hand and sh!t in the other and see which hand fills up faster.

I think we would all be happy to see Haskins perform up to his billing and turn his young career and life around. Time will tell.

My late Grandmother used the same Quote all the time. Growing up everytime I'd say ....I wish. LoL. If Haskins magically does turn it around, it will be a huge Boon( of course). LoL

Notice how I stated the term "imply". Not that you stated. Major difference.

Either way, to assume AB was the sole reason that Tampa Bay and Tom Brady for that matter won the Super Bowl is silly.
