The Steelers are projected to carry three RB’s on their 53. This may be a premature projection but do you think they need to carry at least 4 with the amount of usage they are going to get?

Any RB past the 1st two must be good on special teams. That will always be a deciding factor.

I am sure that there will be at least one held on the PS. Patterson has some run at RB too, both receiving out of the backfield and actually running the ball. I think our top 3 are set and the 4th and 5th RB's will be held on the PS barring a huge camp for someone out of nowhere. RB's are pretty available off the street too, with about 8-9 guys who have a good amount of experience are sitting without a team at the moment. If we don't feel that a PS RB would be ready to be the #3, then we could pick someone up on a vet minimum one year deal off the couch.

Heck it took Jaylen Warren to light the world on fire for Tomlin to actually get him 30-35% Snaps and now you want 4 RBs?

2 Guys will have the cleanest uniforms in the world.

The Offense is in better hands, way better hands.
Smith is going to take advantage of Harris skills and use him to his strength, something Canada did not do.
Smith should love what Warren brings to the table and should use him to his skill set.
Patterson if he's still got game adds some elements plus he is good at ST's. I think he can backup Harris as the bull...
Shampklin, I don't know about. 5'10" and under 200... I don't know. I think they could find a little better in the upcoming cuts.

Steelers had DeAngelo Williams (Monster season 2015) and LeVeon Bell together in 2016 and Tomlin couldn’t even figure out how to split carries which would have benefitted the team. Heck I was screaming the entire season to put both in the backfield I formation or T and not once did Mikey do that. 4 RB’s? Two of them will be begging to be traded.

I would say the last two years shows He has learned from that mistake. A man that doesn't make mistakes....makes nothing.

I want a lead blocking FB when running out of the I-Formation like San Fran does.

Mistakes are one thing. Being blatantly ignorant is something else altogether.

They got Georgia's rb too. If it comes to it Hayward can run the ball but we would be deep into it at that point. Coletto is here too. That's 7. No we are not short.

We signed Daijun Edwards the 5'10" 210 lb back from Georgia. Edwards ran for over 800 yards and 12 TD's for the Bulldogs last year. He would be a heck of a good 4th team back.

I am fine with having only 3 on the roster.

We have 2 good running backs on the roster now and a backup. If either one is injured, the other is capable of being RB#1. Then we have a backup in the wings and if the injury is light, we limp for a week or two and then go back to the normal. If it is a bad injury, IR and hire a new guy from the FA guys or trade for another guy that can come on the roster as a #2 or #3 behind Warren or Harris. You always want more depth, but I think that there is definitely more need for that 4th RB slot in other positions on the active roster.

Now, one on the PS would be fine and save us the scramble if we have a bad injury.

Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren, Corderelle Patterson, Daijan Edwards, Aaron Shampkin. Connor Hayward (te/fb).

How many RBs should we be carrying going into pre-season? Bengals have 4, Ravens have 5, Browns have 6.

He's been invited to a tryout at rookie camp. I only listed the ones officially on the roster. But I'm wondering how many RBs the OP thinks we should be carrying? I can't see more than 3 on the 53 with one on the practice squad.
