  1. Yes. It's an upgrade over Mason.

  2. No. Mason wouldn't have been much different

  3. No start Will Howard

I can't say to Howard, but I do believe we would have drafted a QB. Maybe Howard.

Rodgers, Mason, Howard QB room is probably the best outcome

In his time in Chicago, Fields was a 60% completion rate passer. His 6 games with the Steelers he had a 66% completion rate. Fields is not a terrible passer. His ability to run is what gives him that X-factor. I see the appeal to keep Fields.

On a 1-year deal, ARod is the better QB. That's factoring in ability to play QB in the NFL. I get it that Rodgers is not a long term answer at the position. Fields at least is a maybe. Both are better options than Mason Rudolph.

Thing is, the deal was struck with Rodgers early. If Fields would have come back on the offer, next year would have been his year. Rookie QB will sit. The plan didn't work out. That's my theory.

Right, Rodgers over Fields, Fields wasn't going to be 2 so he left, Plug in Mason (a close to ideal back up QB) and Howard and you have the best QB room under the circumstances, given what we were dealing with

I feel better with Rodgers as Qb of course, but then i remember who is still the HC and i get depressed.

“well re-assess, go back to the lab” here it all comes again….more cliches and tomlin excuses, but of course its the players fault, after all, what is tomlin supposed to do with guys who need to be coached up and prepared on game day? I’m just numb to this stuff after 15 years

from what I read after the Rodgers signing, he was their plan c. They were trying to trade for stafford. Obviously that didn’t come to fruition, but once fields got word of it he said I’m out. So then we turned to Mason and Rodgers

I don't see how they could not have. They , didn't see enough from the 3 preseason games, and 6 regular season games to give them enough confidence that he was the answer moving forward, plus he got hurt the little time he played, so I think they would have drafted a Qb anyways. JMO

So from what You just wrote, they must never had much confidence in Fields . That's should say it all.

I agree with that, that's why they brought back Mason, who they know about, drafted Howard, and brought in A. Rodgers.

Yes...sort of. He is more clutch than Wilson. Howard is probably not ready. Mason seems like a good guy...but not much of a QB. The only thing(aside from all the AR is not a leader stuff) is that Rodgers is getting old and could miss time.
