Pouncey gets hurt year after year. Boy I'm glad we still have Pouncey.

Keep Bell and get rid of the guy that insist upon running the wheels off him. Bell doesn't get a breather nor does his backups get a few touches as the deserve.

Get rid of Heyward too he's always hurt lol I think they overworked Bell this season, they use him as a receiver too the guy needs the odd rest during the game. He looked gimpy before the game I think he was already nursing something, the wet field didn't help.

he missed 4 games. I don't think he was over worked. injuries happen. he has been hurt a lot before he even had the chance to be over worked. that being said, we have to keep him

There is a lot of evidence that RBs who have over 370 carries in a season have a huge dropoff in subsequent seasons. That works out to 23 carries per game. Bell averaged 22.8 carries per game over last 14 games. As good as he is, he will not survive this kind of abuse. No different than the Rooneys insisting on a better OLine and switching to Haley to save Ben, Tomlin needs to trot out a backup RB every now and then. While Williams is not as good as Bell, he was very, very good whenever he filled in. Certainly enough to pick up 25% of the carries and have a fresh Bell for the biggest game of the year. BTW - see my other thread, I think Bell was hurt prior to this game.

Everyone seems to have forgotten his "missed" drug tests as well.

The running style is unique, but I was watching last night and I was calling every run play out of that shotgun formation. We need to run out of more traditional formations.

We desperately need a #2 receiver and #1 TE. I'd make a deal for Ladarius and Leveon.

going heavy run is nice especially for giving our defense a rest, but damn it sure throws ben off rhythm. maybe just let ben sling it the way he wants to. use bell/brown everywhere as receivers and have deangelo be RB when bell is at wr position. then start having both rb's in the backfield, both can run both can block, both have heart. switch it up and let ben/bell/williams do their thing. brown can keep being a decoy, martavis will open him up if they dont respect him.

green can just retire, i wish him well

He was hurt - he admitted it and said that at the beginning of the game he was at '50%'.

It's never good to think out loud especially when your thought is "Should we get rid of the best running back since maybe Walter Payton???" So to answer your question: No.

I am more concerned about Martavis Bryant's unavailability and character issues than injuries to a transcendent talent that fall under two categories:

    1.) Bang bang play

    Or

    2.) Malicious intent.

Getting rid of Bell is something the Stains would do. I'm saying he's looking worn out, they play him as a wideout too the guy is playing 2 positions plus blocking. That's asking a lot, I think the field play a part too he lost his footing and he pulled the groin.

maybe, we will never know if that did or not. I still think he wasn't overworked. like I said injuries happen. he is no more worked than several other guys. I get your point though

Two themes that have dominated this board lately have been 'should the Steelers get rid of Bell and Brown?'.

Fans of other NFL teams when they hear that from us "knowledgeable" Steeler fans be like...

You understand Leveon's skill set is really great, he is a better receiver than most NFL teams
have on their roster. The Steelers will offer him a fair deal. If that's not good enough we will
have to look for another RB.

Average life span of NFL RB is 6 years. Bell is at half way point

Thats because they are average and end up out of the league, bettis wasnt average 12 years playing, was emmit smith average he played 14 years, was sweetness average or adrian peterson how about franco, as well as eric dickerson, yeah the average backs dont last long but the above average ones play for over 10 years I consider bell one of these above average backs who will play for 10 years............

You improve the team by getting rid of the weaknesses, not the strengths.

You make a decent point but you have to think he's going to have to string together more than 1 healthy season to make it to 10+
