2009 Packers game. Four lead changes in the last eight minutes. With 3 seconds left on the GB 19, Ben hits Wallace for the (replay challenged) winning score (after Reed's extra point).

Rodgers passes for 383 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs (101.3 QBR). Ben 503 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs (121.9 QBR).

I remember this game. I was home on Christmas leave. The entire bar was going crazy. Fun game for sure.

Nice one. But be honest at that point in time Rodgers was not the guy he was that ben faced in the SB.

I like the cut of your jib, son - just hope you didn't bet the mortgage on that outcome.

    No?
2009 4,434 yards, 30 TD, 7 int, 103.2 passer rating; 423 yard, 4 TD game in 51-45 playoff loss in Arizona
    2010 3,922 yards, 28 TD, 11 int, 101.2 passer rating

    Rodgers had arrived in 2009.

Didn't Ben have a perfect passer rating just 3 weeks ago? His 5th career game with a perfect rating?

That game was part of the 'Unleash Hell' campaign. Unfortunately, the Steelers had been eliminated from playoff contention the week before...by the Cleveland Browns.:(

In 2009 the wasnt getting referred to as the best talent to play the position and all those things. Rodgers after the sb and then the mvp year in 2011 then started showing he was all time great. I dont remember anyone calling him the best 1b in the nfl in 2009. That's the current standard he is held at.

He was a top 5 QB by 2009, and was about the same caliber QB in 2010. His playoff game in Arizona after 2009 was fantastic - as good as anything he did in 2910. I remember it well because I watched it with a good friend who is a Packer fan.

It’s pointless continuing this discussion. Saying the Rodgers wasn’t a special QB in 2009 fits your narrative against Ben, so I’ll just leave you to your world where you’re never wrong. I’ve seen your MO.

In 2009 top 5 was manning, brady, brees, rivers, and farve. Rodgers was top ten but he was not considered elite until after that sb and the mvp year. And i never said anything bad about ben nor did I say he cant outgun elite QBs. I was just saying Rodgers was not the Rodgers we looked at now are you not understanding that you have hall of fame guys saying now he's the best they've ever seen. They were not saying that in 2009.

There's a very real possibility of us and NE playing on WC weekend. No way Texans lose two more games. Thus, a loss tomorrow to LA pretty much ensures us playing on WC weekend.

I was saying it back then after watching the game vs. the Steelers and the playoff loss to Arizona. His combination of arm talent and mobility was obvious to me. Passer rating 4th, yards 4th, TDs 4th (total pass/run TDs 2nd to Brees by only 1 TD), interception % 1st, and he had 300+ yards and 5 TDs rushing, which was far more than any of the other top QBs. He did all this as an ascending talent while Manning, Brady and Brees were already in their prime and well-established. His 2009 season, with a developing team around him, was part of his potential GOAT resume. He wasn’t being talked about as a potential GOAT in 2009 or 2010 because it was early in his career.

I'm not disputing what you're saying. It's not incomprehensible to think that you took from what he did in 2009 and had that assessment of him. I cant go with early in career as an excuse. Do you see the praise pat mahomes is getting as a first yr starter?

I did vote but with cautious optimism. Team has to take care of business. I truly thought this was the year where the dreaded "P.DT.C." (Play Down To Competition) narrative would be put to rest. Sadly.. that was not the case.

I will be intriguied to see how the defense bounces back. Keep in mind the defense has not generated too many turnovers in the past couple of games.

So much hate vs Ben lol.

4-5 win team without him. Playoff contender with him. Need a defense to counter his clunkers though

Absolutely. Big ben is a 1st ballot hall of Famer in my book. But I do think he's a level below the Montana's, bradys, mannings, elways off the world.
