Do we have any chance against the Giants?

Really, Dallas has arguably the best corners? They lost to the seahawks 27-7 against a rookie QB who picked them apart, the bears cutler beat them throwing the ball 34-18, so i'm not on board with that, besides Eli passed the ball on them between the 20s to get them in FG range 5 times yesterday, i'm not buying it...

The Giants are the best team we've faced this year by far. The good news is we usually play better against the good teams, the bad news is like you said, our corners aren't as good as Dallas, people shouldn't count on Eli having two off weeks in a row, we will have our hands full dealing with Cruz and Nicks. Our bend but don't break defense should definitely be an advantage in this game though, Giants aren't a good redzone team, so not giving up the big play will be very important, something we usually avoid and happen to be good at. We also will be able to move the ball on them and will need to get those TD's instead of FG's. My biggest fear is a close 4th qtr, if Eli has the ball in his hands to win the game, I hate to say it, but it will be over for us.

Agree..thats why Ben & Co. needs to strike early and mound the points and keep the hammer down ...can't be having teams close in on the last 15 mins. where the games are decided by field goals. They just need to keep Eli rattled- disorientated get the T/O's and the W.

Lets line up and see what happens, we can compete against any team
we just have to play almost flawless football against these upper echelon teams.
We have to have our PLAYMAKERS step up in a game like this one.

I watched the Giants' last two games against the Skins and Cowboys. Eli is Eli but their secondary is definitely beatable and Ben should put up 300 yards next week. The drops and throws will have to be quick though because their front 7 can really bring it. Screens and draws will work well against their fast pursuit.

I can imaging the Giants having a down week after playing their division rival Dallas.

Living on the edge is what this team has done since 07. They were 10-6 and beat one team with a winning record all year. Then went to the Super Bowl against probably the greatest team of all time and won by a guy catching a ball with his helmet. Then last year they go to San Francisco against another better team and THIS time they are 9-7 and they recover a fluke fumble and win the game. Then they go to the Super Bowl and the ONLY way they win is to have the wide receiver with the MOST CATCHES IN THE NFL drop a WIDE OPEN pass. The giants are one of the luckiest teams in the history of the NFL and in my opinion if you had to pick the WORST Super Bowl winners of ALL TIME it would be the 07 and 011 giants hands down. They are extremely overrated and Eli is not even worthy to be mentioned in the same breath as Ben. But I know there are many that would disagree but that's just what I think.

Better to be lucky than good. And if the Giants were terrible NFL champions, then the team that beat them in 2000 has to be the worst team of all. They sucked so bad they cut their QB.

I would love to see a llist of WORST Super Bowl winners. I put the Giants of 07 at number 1 and the Giants of 011 at number 2. Then probably the Dilfer Ravens and then probably the Bucs that won it because of their defense. Could you even say that given the point spread that the Jets were one of the worst teams to win it? I mean for that to have been such an upset wouldn't they need to have been pretty bad?

I hate to say it, but if you compile a list like that, you almost have to include the 05 Steelers just because of how terrible Ben was. Worst QB rating of any SB winning QB ever. That alone probably makes it automatically included in such a list.

I think the 2007 Giants were a very good team. They almost beat the Pats in the regular season, and come SB, they shut down one of the greatest offences of all time, and Eli drove them downfield late in the 4th for the win.

They beat one team in the regular season with a winning record.

Abso-freaking lutely we have a chance!
For one thing I am going to the game, and I am 3-0 lifetime in person seeing the Steelers play the Giants in New Jersey.
BTW, I would not put the 05 Steelers on that list, simply because Ben had a bad SB game. He had a bunch of very good other games that year to get them there.

Not to veer off in a different direction, but I felt the 05 team was better than the 08 team. I will also say that the 08 team had the worst OL of any team to ever win a Super Bowl.

Anyway, if you watched the Giants nearly blow the game yesterday, multiple times, multiple ways, you can see that this is a team due to get beat.

My biggest concern is the Giants pass rush.

I'm looking for a ticket now.

That's probably mine too. I've got a feeling we might see some vintage Ben in this one. I'm ok with that because I kinda miss seeing him posterizing dudes though. lol. As long as we win I don't care how we do it.

I'm much more worried about the Giants passing game than I am their pass rush. Not saying they don't have a good pass rush, just saying that their passing game is much more of a concern IMO.

Couldn't agree more. Haley will have a plan in place to slow the rush via screens and quick passes, and our Oline is looking better this year. What downright terrifies me is our pass defence against those WR's. I think Manning could throw for 500 yards against us. It's not going to be pretty whether we win or lose.

I think if Ryan is not playing it's gonna be a long day for our corners. The one thing about the giants receiving core is that they are gonna catch what they get thrown. We benefitted this week from drops but I HIGHLY doubt that will be the case this week.

I was more concerned with the Redskins than I am about the Giants. They have a traditional offense that if we play good ball we can contain and if we play great we can flat out stop. While their DL is ferocious we should be able to control the line in the running game with our two guards and later cause them to ease up on their pass rush. I like our chances in this game, especially if Baltimore wins early.

We've got a chance, but I by no means sold on the 2012 steelers. They've won two games in a row, but we can't forget it was against mediocre competition.

If we continue the dink and dunk, and Dwyer offense we should be good. You have to be quick against the G men, their front 4 are just awesome. But, I think they are going to start to stack the box, I think you going to see Wallace and Brown catch some deeper balls, because defenses are going to start creeping the saftey up more.

TOP is going to be key in this game, Eli Manning can't beat you if he is over on the bench. Turnovers of course will be key.

But the Gaints are beatable, this game will be a huge measuring stick to see how we stack up against a good team.
