I'm thinking no. I just don't see how we can stop their passing game. Ike is going to struggle covering Cruz, and even if he does relatively well against him Nicks will probably eat Lewis alive. Eli is good enough to pick us apart with the non-existant pass rush. We need Troy back and Clark and Woodley to be ok for this game.

Our OL has played really well but Tuck/JPP/Kiwanuka are a scary bunch. Our best shot is probably Dwyer having a monster game.

    Of course we do! :swordsman:

We can beat anybody if things get done right. We're skeptical because so far they haven't gone as well as we'd have hoped.

This will be a huge test for us this sunday, in their house, against the superbowl champs.

The boy's should be tooling up for a hell of a game. :herewego:

I think we can do this. :clapping: :duel:

(At least we won't be wearing :buzz: this time.)

Of course we have a chance. This opponent will be the team's hardest challenge yet...possibly all year for that matter. I watch every Giants game because my wife is a HUGE Giants fan. They have their flaws as well. The Cowboys gave many gifts yesterday, and with 4 interceptions, they still almost won that game. Their DL is over hyped. Blackburn and Rolle were hurt yesterday, so that's good news for us. Their passing game is legit, and it's going to pose the biggest challenge. We really need Clark 100% in this game.

The key to this game is really the same key to the Broncos game. Keep Manning on the Bench. And, they must score touchdowns in the red zone and not field goals. The Giants are going to score, no doubt about it. Limiting the time their offense is on the field is the way to win.

This isn't about if our D can stop their Offense, it's about if the Giants can stop our Offense? I say no!! we can out score anybody, this offense is beginning to go on all cylinders. Dwyer will run all over the Giants which will open up play action, Giants has trouble with the Cowgirls receivers , what can they do with ours? lol It'll be the redskins game, we score TD's the giants can have the field goals

the Steelers are starting to find themselves.

the oline has looked better in the last couple weeks than they have in the last couple years.

the offense is looking better each week. they looked to have found a running game.

the defense is still not where we are use to seeing them, but we are seeing improvement. they are still not getting to the qb for sacks, but they are getting some pressure and thats helping the secondary.

so i would say without a doubt they have a chance to win and they should win.

This Steelers defense gets so little respect. They are now 8th in points allowed and 16th in points scored. I understand that scoring and preventing scoring are a combination of offense and defense in the field position battle. The improvements in the defense and the running game are going to drive this team.

Haley is returning Roethlisberger to his early game management role because we are not a high scoring team. It is working well and should result in less injuries to him and the offensive line. This is and going to be a fun season to watch.

We have at least an even chance against the Giants.

I do not agree with this statement at all. Game Management role? Haley has moved this offense toward a Clock Management Model, not Ben. Ben has ELITE QB numbers this year, and no one can say he doesn't. It is fact. Add in a few key drops or just missed connections and they look even better. For instance, take away the Pick 6 against Denver when we were down a bunch, and his numbers are even better than they are.

The stark contrast from BA to Haley is very obvious. It isn't about total yards or total points, it is about efficiency. How many times do we put our hands on the ball, do we score? Not how quickly we score or how many shots we get to throw the ball over 40 yards, or how many 400 yard games Ben has, how many 1000 yard receivers, etc. Haley believes in efficiency. Let's talk some stats to consider this.

Right now, this offense is tied for FIRST in average number of 3rd downs per game with 14.9. Last year we averaged 12.5 good for 26th.

Right now, this offense is FIRST in 3rd Down conversion RATE at 51.92%. Last year, we were at 45.75% good for 5th.

We have added over 2 minutes to our Time of Poss. each game to a team which Led the league in the category last year. That being said we are 2nd right now but only 10th in total number of plays.

We manage games as a unit, but the reality is Ben still wins and losses games for this team. When the game is on the line....Ben will be the guy asked to step up.

Agreed. Saying Ben is a game manager is insane. He's more efficient like he was early in his career but he's doing much more than manage games. He's a legitimate MVP candidate right now.

Eli didnt have a great game against dallas yesterday, he didnt throw for any TDs and the two TDs they did get was 1 from a run and a pick six, Eli had one of his worst passing games this year, 192 yards for no TDs: They will be coming off of a big empotional game and could be flat sunday, they barely made it by the redskins 2 weeks ago and have been living on the edge winning by kicking field goals and getting lucky breaks recently... Tynes kicked 5 field goals yesterday acounting for 15 of their 29 points, if the giants and Eli stay true to form we should certainly be able to win this game, if we bring the intensity we have shown in our last two wins THAT is what will be key for us sunday....

Of course we do, but I truly fear Manning will throw for 500 yards and 4 TD's. I just don't see any way in hell we will be able to stop them, especially if Clark doesn't play. I think this is the game when the defence will truly get exposed for the very weak unit it is. RG3 would have exposed our defence if not for his WR's dropping everything thrown their way. NYG WR's won't drop those balls.

I know one thing, I'm betting the over on this game because I think both defences will get exposed badly. This is going to be the game where we have no choice but to finally admit our defence is garbage and is the weak link on this team. I hope I'm wrong, but I won't be.

Its going to be another road test for the Steelers..The G-men are much better than the Bengals. Need to keep Ben upright & clean.. open holes for the run . Giants D is a concern pending which D shows up. Having Lebeau & Haley your chances are always good for a "W" Its up to the players to follow the blueprint.

You can't look at Division games and say that the team isn't that good because they barely won. Division games are rarely blow outs, they are always tough games. Look at Cleveland this year, they beat Cincinnati and almost beat Baltimore.

Manning struggled against Dallas, but Dallas arguably has the best CB's in the league. That Claiborne kid is no joke. We will not be able to shut down their receivers like Dallas did.

I'm in on the "Any Given Sunday" camp (or Monday or Thursday) so yes we have a chance. Maybe 60/40. With us being the 40
