I caught the tail end of a Tomlin interview and he said something about now being able to play more nickle because of the personnel.

It is not if they have enough, do they have any that can play the position
against high caliber offenses that they will see.

Yeah, the Nelson and Hilton deals are really bizarre now considering the Steelers now have $17 million in cap space. They could have signed either one. Now we know that it wasn't about the money. They could've(and did) easily get the cap space. Who knows why they left themselves so thin when they didn't have to.

Do you realize how much money TJ Watt and Minka Fitzpatrick are going to get? We can't keep
all the players we would like to keep.

I look for them to sign a minimum of 1 new CB after the league cuts their rosters down to 53 at the end of the month.

At the time they didn't know they were going to cut DeCastro, they wasn't going to pay a slot CB Hilton 6 million a year.

Unfortunately neither Brooks nor Maulet have been able to claim the slot role or even stay healthy.

Yes, I think they have a problem at this point, and they will need to make a signing. They’re probably hoping to get lucky with a camp cut because I don’t see them burning any more draft picks.

Good point. The Steelers straddled the fence between Win Now and Build For The Future.

Colbert did a good job getting Ingram and Schobert to fill holes, but OT and DB still look to be the potential soft underbelly.

Just because you have cap space doesn’t mean you over pay.

Nelson accepted $2.5 million. Hilton $6 million a year. I just don't see that as overpaying for a team that's all in on a super bowl run.

If they can come up with $18 million in cap space now, they could've come up with enough to keep one of those guys before, if they really wanted to.

I'm ,blaming the the players union for lack of practice. Not knowing assignments is a league wide problem that has today's qbs making out like rock stars.

The nfl is not what it used to be. Now you are considered the greatest of all time if you know your assignment.

Tomlin gets a little credit...both good & bad. Players get results, i mean really good ones, but become bigger than the team in warped minds.
