He wasn't all wrong. But he's a tool...Steelers don't spend money on offense...spend money of offense...find a reason to hate it. Always a reason for Steelers bashing.

If they keep Pickens, they have bigger needs to fill than drafting a WR high in the draft.

this isn’t madden. Every team in the league knows full well that Pickens is a head case. If the Steelers were to make him available they would be lucky to get 5th for him

This just puts serious stress on the back end of opposing defenses. Imagine the wide open spaces in the middle of the field should they focus more than they have been with that option.

Reminds me of giving up a first for Minkah. I liked that trade, but the Steelers must utilize this one better than they did that one. Minkah was robbed of his splash playmaking ability here, which was his finest quality IMHO .

Imo half assing it benefits Pickens in no possible way. Whether it is staying with the Steelers or looking for money elsewhere.

This does feel a little like trading for Minkah during a lost season. Like, what's the point? But, we do have him for 5 years. And I'm guessing that this is at least partially to do with the fan backlash and last years bungle at the wr position.

I don't think there's any chance Pickens is on the roster in September. Steelers will be pretty much in the same boat they were last year... no clear #2 unless another WR is obtained in free agency. Steelers should focus on big uglies for the draft... D line and O line.

Did you really feel that ways about Baker before he elevated his game? He was the butt of jokes.

Jalen Hurts has the likes of DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown as well.

Joe Burrow had both Tee Higgins and JaMarr Chase (still does but that is up in the air at present)

Even J.J. McCarthy will start out with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.

Long story short?! You essentially need a 1A and a 1B in the league as far as Wideouts go UNLESS you have a generational level superstar QB. Mahomes, Allen and Jackson are the only ones I can think of at the moment that fit into this tier.

Maybe Pickens isn't a Steelers by the time September rolls around. Maybe he is. Who knows?!

One thing is for certain though; a QB is needed in the worst way possible now. I do agree with you that Picks 21 and 83 have to be either both IDL and OL or one of them. Double up on them later in the draft no less.

I sadly do have to play devils advocate though; assume the Steelers sign either Wilson or Rodgers. No way in hell Pittsburgh is leaving the 2025 NFL Draft without a QB. Question is... will it be Howard or Tyler Shough?!

I know he’s a pariah, but Rodgers may be a good fit. Even at the late career stage, his release is quick. Add to his ability to read defense, it will take the pressure off the OL

For what it's worth, Pompiani, who works for the Steelers, said on the radio that George Pickens will probably be traded before or during the draft.
