Could be a sign that Pickens is giving up number 14

Does this mean we are targeting a QB in the first round? Someone has to toss the ball, but this is another “weak” year for QB.

If they were looking to trade Pickens, you'd have to think they could have done a player for player swap with Seattle, who now has a hole at receiver. Unless Seattle didn't want Pickens, or the Steelers think Pickens is worth more than a second round pick, that would have been the perfect and easiest candidate to do a trade.

This is awesome! Folks have been clamoring about adding weapons and upgrading the receiver room. Done. Solidify the QB position and we may finally have a dynamic offense after 5 years of ineptitude. Young, talented O line, Jaylen Warren, TE weapons. We are a QB and an OC gameplan away from scoring 30+ points a game.

A contract worth $30M in AAV doesn't necessarily equate to $30M in cap space. Teams fluctuate base salary amounts and use a combination of signing/option bonus prorations and void years to mitigate the yearly cap impact of higher-end contracts.

Love this. It would have been nice to get a later round pick back from the Seahawks but that’s a small thing. If they can manage to keep Pickens this is a really dangerous group now. Teams will be slow to stack the box with Metcalf running down one sideline and Pickens the other.

Brooke Pryor reported that they're swapping a 7th for a 6th from the Seahawks this year. I haven't seen another outlet mention that yet, but hers is on ESPN's front page, so I'd think it credible.

We never averaged 30 pts a game when Ben R. was in his prime.

There are plenty of targets available for two receivers, but the Steelers will have to change how they run their offense. They need to run more slants, which is a strong point for both Metcalf and Pickens. It is going to be a lot more difficult for teams to double Pickens with Metcalf on the other side, too.
