Harris did nothing wrong. The offense has sucked and he is frustrated by it. That is the proper response.

Johnson threw his quarterback under the bus. I don't care how badly the guy is playing, that's a terrible response by a selfish veteran player.

I think the rest of the offense is at their limit with Kenny. They realize he’s holding the team back. The coaches can’t let it go much longer without losing the room. We can talk all we want about developing a QB etc., but if Pickett is consistently messing up play calls and missing reads, the other players are just going to quit on him. That’s just the nature of the game.

If Kenny lays another egg in Cincy, I can’t see him continuing as the starter, especially in front of a home crowd that won’t have a lot of patience.

pickett is costing these guys money on their future contracts.. they're not producing because kenny can't throw them a decent ball.. when they do get open, kenny never sees them. i'd be livid.

Totally agree on Harris. Nothing wrong in his response. Frustrated player with a frustrated response.

Johnson very well could have run the right route. Just last week he didn't throw Kenny under the bus for missing him on a wide open TD late in the game, so its not like he's throwing Kenny under the bus at any chance he got. He was probably asked about the route and if he ran a wrong one and he told them he didn't. That is probably just the truth.

Never like Johnson. I would be happy to see him gone. Highly unreliable. After watching tough players like Ward who set the tone and produced a lot of YAC or AB who was dynamic and clutch it was and has been very difficult to watch DJ. I just have never been a fan and yet we treat him like he is a number 1. I don’t get it. On those teams with Ward or AB, DJ would have been the fourth best reciever.

Ward, Plaxico and Randle El or Santonio

    AB, Bryant, JuJu. Wallace.

now we’re settling for Johnson to be in a primary role and making excuses for him every year when he underperforms.

it annoys me that we sign very average players to second contracts.

We need to do something about the QB position fast. What playmakers at WR, TE, RB are going to want to come play for us if we are just going to tank their production? You see this to a certain extent in Baltimore. They don't get the high end pieces at WR because Lamar is never going to put up high end passing numbers.

You are the one who brought it up. Players throwing one another under the bus is a problem.

You still don't throw teammates under the bus publicly. You handle it in the locker room.

He's only performing poorly because his QB can't get him the ball. Look at his numbers before KP and tell me that he didn't deserve low end #1 money. In 27 games started (missed a few to injury) with Ben throwing him the ball he averaged 1044 yards and 7.5 TD's over those two seasons. Based solely off of 2022 receiving that would've been good enough for 17th in yards amongst WR's and 12th in TD's amongst WR's.... That is mid-tier #1 production and he's the 14th paid WR. He will drop out of the top 16 here shortly with Chase, Higgins, Waddle, Jefferson, and Lamb all about to get paid. He seems paid where he should be to me.

Just because our QB sucks @$$ and has greatly affected DJ's production, doesn't mean that the contract was bad for the player we signed. There's no excuses, just the reality that it is hard to perform in a system where the QB struggles to throw for 150 yards passing on a weekly basis. If DJ had a top 10 QB throwing him the ball he'd go for 1200 yards and 7 TD's every year.

IF he was replying to a comment, how is that throwing a player under the bus??... Tomlin, Austin,Canada, Picket are bigger problems

What about the passes that went right through DJ’s hands? Must have been due to the residues from Pickett’s glove

You’re totally one hundred percent right here. However, dj is human and we all make mistakes. He let his emotions and frustration get the best of him. It happens

Saying he ran the right route puts it on Pickett. Better to say they need to get on the same page.

This is what I was wanting to know multiple times yesterday when Kenny would throw the ball to an Empty spot. Did Kenny throw the ball to the wrong spot or did DJ run the wrong route.

I am glad someone asked DJ, or he decided not to take one for the team and posted it himself.

It was bad, but the third-down throw that ended the last full possession was the truly terrible throw.

That swing pass to Harris where he had to turn around was pretty freaking bad too. Lead a 250lb running back you e got a first down. Make him play ballerina and he’s toast

Honestly those stats aren’t that impressive with 17 games and teams on average passing for than 250 yards a game where the game and officiating cater to the offense.

he just doesn’t haven’t that it factor that the other Steelers WR’s previously or GP. I feel like it was a bad contract. We could lose just as bad as we did yesterday without paying him that contract. I would rather that money go elsewhere to a difference maker.

the other Steeler I lost a ton of respect for this year was Friermuth. Some if his poor attempts at blocking were disheartening. Blocking is all about sacrifice and heart. He didn’t show either to me.

Johnson did try to handle it in the locker room last year when he tried to fight Trubisky ;).

Agree, DJ has to get out of town next year.

DJ will be in a contract year, and if he wants to sign another big contract he is going to need to be as far away from Kenny/Matt as he can.

The last time he was in his final year of his contract he was with old man Ben Roethlisberger and managed 1,161 yards and 8 Tds.
