Divided Locker Room

Hey my friend, I'm not complaining about your new thread, that's what we're here for and I understand the desire to offer new perspectives and wrinkles. It's just been my experience here at TSF website pretty much since its inception, that multiple threads with a common (duh) thread to them, will often get enjoined even with similar threads that haven't posted any activity for a year or so by the Boss, you, I don't know? It's now to the point, IMHO, that this topic deserves it's own standing in the upper banner just below Bill Nunn. As it is now with the stream of consciousness thread titles it makes it kind of crazy keeping track of things and as you so rightly implied, this isn't ending this Sunday and eventually these 15 - page 1 Bell related threads all get cross pollinated anyways. If the unintended purpose is to push non Bell related threads off the first page, which it's done, then I guess mission accomplished. Carry on Sir.

P.S. When's the next online Food Truck competition? Wasn't that your Sister? That was wild.

Whether that will be the prevailing sentiment of the locker room is a good question.
Personally, as a fan, I am highly pissed at him, but I don`t work with him on a daily basis..

Whenever he comes back, it would be best for our team, if they can all just get along.

However, when I read some of the quotes, about, "He makes 7 times more than me, and twice what Villanueva does, and we`re the ones opening the holes for him"...

I get very scared about the "chemistry/unity" of the team....

I DO very much believe that they play better as a team, when they truly care about each other,
as opposed to when there are selfish/egotistical players in the locker room...

Just remember Ben telling Bettis to come back for 1 more year, and "I promise I will get you to the Superbowl"...

It happened.

That WHOLE team had each others` backs... I believe that matters.

Can we win without Bell?
Sure...

But if he comes back and does, indeed divide the locker room, I think it is going to be much more difficult
to win #7....

It might really be in our best intrests to just cut bait with him now, and get whatever we can as far as draft picks or
whatever, right now.
I just don`t know what we can get, when other teams, might just wait the situation out, and get him without compensation to us.
Not really sure how all that works.

Whoops, my bad, all my invisible cyber buds sort of look alike. Except perhaps DARCRAV, he/she looked much different. Hopefully steering me onto Page 2 will be much simpler than steering Real Steel away from the ledge.

I hope cooler heads prevail as well,
But it`s sounding like a pretty hot-headed locker room right now(from what I read online),
and I just have a bad feeling about the whole situation.
I wish I knew more about what our options were with him.
From what I understand, none of them look good.
I`m rooting for Conner to help us carry on the legacy of winning Lombardis at this point,
and hoping for the best!!!

 

Best post of the day!If he comes back tomorrow is he going to give it his all and go for that extra yard to get the team a first down?Or is his agent telling us how he really feels and wants to protect himself for next years big payday which will happen with one of the other 31 teams based on the contracts they gave out this year?I can only go by what has been said by his agent as that’s the last statement by them.

If JC is rolling and the Steelers are winning games then you have to continue with JC IMO. If Bell comes back say week 6 or so, I think Bell should be inactive. No doubt this will cause some turmoil. I really wish the Steelers would have not have let this get this far. Every scenario where Bell returns to the team is awkward and ugly at this point.

 

Honestly at this point I wish they would all stop talking to the media. Everyone has said their piece. Now its time to play football. Nothing good can come from the players beating this horse. Lord knows us fans do a good job of that here. LOL

 

I am actually a bit concerned about that quote from AB. When he says about wanting "what's best for him" that still sounds like putting the individual over the team. Maybe he didn't mean it that way but that's what it sounds like. Now I respect AB as he's one of the few I've seen who still played hard after getting his big contract, but I worry about that individual above the team attitude. I hope he just worded him comments poorly.

Maybe the Steelers can put some boxing gloves on Dobbs and Mason and have them go a couple rounds for a pregame opening act. I mean, we could sure use some more distractions around here...

 

I am watching GMFB weekend addition, and all they can talk abt is how the Steelers players are ragging on Bell abt his $$.....And how Tomlin doesn.t have control of the locker room.. They even brought in that beat reporter Kamannannaa ( what ever her name is ) from Pittsburgh and she said the players are not talking abt Bells $$ but Robbinson ( who ever he is/was and Whats his name that played for USC just ignored her and went on abt Bells ?) I'M sick of media just half ass'ing their reports

 

It'll be awkward at first, but I anticipate the players will be professional about it and go about their business. Things might get testy if the Steelers are out of the playoffs at the time of his arrival, but I don't see that happening either.

I don't see Le'veon showing up until he has to about week 10 or so. He'll be around for the end of the regular season going into the playoffs.

Him not showing up today confirms this in my mind. If he's willing to forfeit the first weeks pay, he's willing to forfeit the rest. He's thinking long-term over the initial financial loss protecting himself from injury and hits going into free agency. IMO

 

I also stated in another thread he is worth that much. However, I believe he is worth a first and second. For a team that believes it can not only win now but prep for the future, someone of Le'Veons talents is worth the risks for someone out there.

 

Bell isn't worth a first and second, he's been suspended twice and had two knee injuries.

 

As I said, there are risks and rewards to every trade.


Whether or not it is smart is up to a team's F.O. Much like the Raiders with Martavis, there is no guarantee that a team will not be interested in trading for Bell.
