I am not supporting the hold out. But I am pointing out that some of you vastly under appreciate just how good Diontae is. There is no one on this roster that is even close to DJ at this point in time. The money is there. PAY THE MAN!!

He is best WR on roster, but on most teams he wouldn’t be.

Drops Johnson needs to still prove it.

All it takes is one break out season from Pickens or Claypool, and DJ will be #2.

    Exactly what does this mean

Pay him anything he asks for

Pay him what the team thinks is fair

Pay him what the market dictates.

If what the market dictates fits the Steelers budget and perceived value?

Otherwise let him play out his contract this year and be a FA next year?

I'm one that says if you can't pay the guy what the market dictates let him go. He does have a year left but teams cut players all the time with years left so I have no problem with players who try to control their futures. Trade him and let him go elsewhere. He knows he can easily get the bag elsewhere which is why he's holding out.

He hasn’t held out yet just saying.

If he does what he should and plays well and moves on god bless him.

If he does hold out then let him rot in hell.

Repeat after me... WIDE RECIEVERS grow on trees. Market way overvalues the position. He's not much better than Emmanuel Sanders.

Diontae was not skipping his own youth camp, he was giving the kids a lesson in holding out.

The two might go hand in hand. I think we all can agree that DJ has outplayed his rookie deal. Back when the Steelers signed AB to his first big contact, they did so before AB's numbers blew up. This saved them millions. Imagine how high that contract would have been had they waited a year or two.

This is no different. If the Steelers negotiate now they have a much better chance of getting a hometown discount than they will even another year from now. What DJ wants and what the Steelers think is fair may just end up being the same number. The Steelers have to begin the discussion in order to find out.

Funny how teams that have success with drafting receivers usually have very good throwing quarterbacks. When you have a run first quarterback who can’t read defenses like the rats do it correlates to very inconsistent receiver play.
