missing our best defensive lineman against a great running team and our #1 receiver. 0-2 to start the season is a distinct possibility

 

When it rains it pours. A couple weeks could be who knows. Hope its only mild.

 

Both of those injuries linger and players tend to try to come back too soon. We’ve all seen that before with hammy’s. Shut em down until 100% ready.

This could also help Pickett...He played better at the end of the year because...They were RUNNING the Ball!

 

Dude they’ve played one game. In that one game they went 3 and out on their first 5 possessions. Hard to get a running game going that way. Additionally they played a lot of cover 3 w/ a stacked box. They basically dared big ken to beat them with intermediate passes and he wasn’t up to the task

 

this would require an IDENTITY, a PLAN. I'll let you finish the rest of my thought there......

I do remember saying the one way McFarland should get more snaps is if there were injuries. Hmmm

 

Actually if KP cant be more accurate then Austin , Warren or McFarland should play all of those guys best game is YAC you can't get YAC if the throws are off target..

The correct guys to play would be the bigger TE'S ..We called that set Nasty as we tweaked it a bit,,https://footballtimes.org/three-tight-ends-offensive-formation/

The main tweak was the outside TE took a 5 to 6 yard split we found it pressured the OLB more and gave us better running lanes and blocking angles...

 

This is pretty much the first game where we said "wow, he was innacurate". So do you take 1 game and pronounce him inaccurate like many have done or take several games of being accurate? The knee jerk reactions are just crazy.

 

No I talking about having a bu plan to make in game adjustments So we should have a package ready and another package ready ..If we desire to be multiple then they need to practice multiple... Find what works and use it...

 

Have to be honest. This season is looking like a wash. Just have to hope for some progress for Pickett and the other young players.

At this point the DL concerns me more than Pickett and the O. It looked bad enough with Heyward in there. I can’t imagine how bad it will look now that he’s out for a while.

 

Warren was in the lineup for an extended amount of time Sunday and he didn’t do much either. Canada simply don’t know how to play with the pieces he’s given.

 

Heyward really wasn't in there long on Sunday, so there really wasn't enough time to even evaluate how the line looked with him.

 

To be fair, Heyward barely played at all Sunday.

 

I meant last year more than this year. The run D was pretty bad then too. Maybe Benton will help a bit, but the rest of the DL don’t give me much confidence.

 

They’ll likely bring up Fehoko from the practice squad and his bread and butter is stopping the run, so hopefully that helps. But losing Cam is a big loss that no one guy is going to replace.

As for receivers? Don’t worry we can just activate Gunnar… Problem solved.
