All the players are worried about their stats. You would be if you were a pro athlete. Statistics are one of the driving forces in how they get paid moving forward, and the money that 99% of these guys make in the NFL will be 99% of the money they make for the rest of their lives. Why in the actual hell should the players not be worried about their stats?

The sad reality is that if he had real QB play, he'd be 1200 yards a year and 8TD's easy. He's the most open guy the entire NFL has to offer. Can't imagine that a decent NFL QB wouldn't be able to get him the ball all game.

Dont worry the KFP rose colored glasses are going to fade in the next 7 games. People cant even see what they are seeing. I have seen nothing in KFP progress. KFP making history for all the wrong reasons. We will see who they blame now that Canadas gone. Oh my bad his offensive line doesnt give him 20 seconds to pass!

You sir are correct. We have a sideline of no qbs. Im beginning to think we should try a positional player at qb! LOL

That's why the Eagles coach's statement is the best, and I paraphrase "We want football players that love football not what football brings them".

This is what I see also, not too many love the game, they are there to build wealth and that is about it.
Getting paid millions to play a kids game. The average NFL player who works 4 years at minimum salary will make
more in their life time than probably 80% of the board members, plus I think there eligible for pension after 4 years.

I think the culture that is being created in society will make it harder and harder to find these type players.

I've brought it up earlier, Pickett has largely ignored Pickens since DJs return from injury. There's always behind the scenes lobbying for the ball and that's not necessarily a bad thing, but when it gets to a point when it affects the on field production it's going too far.

The Steelers passing game decline and Picketts regression almost exactly line up with DJs return from injury....baring the first game back against LA. You've got to wonder if Kenny is succumbing to the pressure of two guys wanting the ball. Is he trying to force balls to DJ to make him happy at the expense of Pickens and the rest of the passing game, and it's creating tension that is now starting to bubble over?

Although Pickett needs to be a leader and take control of the situation, it's a lot to ask of a young QB who's trying to grow and develop himself. The Steelers let Plaxico walk after Ben's rookie year for this exact reason.

I don't know if this is what's going on but it sure seems like it could be.

Noll had a player take out a lawsuit against him while still on the team.

And I recall Gildon and Huntley getting into a fight in one of Cowher’s training camps that carried on in the locker room and involved them hurling chairs at each other.

    **** happens under every coach.

True and with every team. I've heard a few ex players talk about locker room fignts back in the day. Media just have way too much access to the locker room now. What happened in the locker room, used to stay in the locker room.

I don't think it's a conscious decision on Pickett's part. DJ generally runs shorter patterns, and gets open more than Pickens. Problem is, he drops way too many passes, and they usually come at the worst possible time

Yeah, this type of stuff is not entirely new and happens all the time. We just didn't hear about it as much.

There's also a lot more money at stake nowadays and a lot of that is determined by analytics, so players are naturally going to be stat whores.

    It's all a part of today's NFL.
