So you are saying Rookies don't have to go to the team that drafted them?

And, you are saying Kenny Picket could have asked for a $60 million contract?

Are you kidding me. Not in Today's Job market.

Pre-Covid Agree. Right now everyone is fighting for employees and especially skilled hourly employees are holding out demanding more money and benefits all over the US.

Walmart is paying new truck drivers over $100,000 nationally and fry cooks are making over $20.00 an hour in Colorado. Everyone is holding out for more pay, more benefits , and more time off.

I posted somewhere about how I didn't know if I would be in favor, or not IN favor of a trade with Kansas City for their Franchise Tag Holdout Orland Brown.

DJ straight across for Orlando Brown? Good or Bad for the Steelers?

DJ's stats would completely blow up making him a top 3 WR with Mahomes if not the #1 WR in the league. Could I be OK with the Steelers trading away the next big thing in WRs?

Actually I think it would be a great deal. Brown would ultimately be our starting LT for 7-8 y ears and I'd have no problems paying him 23/24 M a year. WRs like Johnson grow on trees, stud LTs don't. Don't see either team making this trade tho.

    Yes he did

He decided to accept an offer from the nfl

He agreed to the terms and conditions of that organization

He could have gone to McDonald’s or IBM

He decided to agree to the terms and conditions of the employment he was offered

    It’s that simple

he didn’t accept an nfl from the nfl. He accepted an offer from the Pittsburg Steelers which was the only team he could get an offer from.

why would he go work at McDonald’s instead of playing football? Are you serious?

He agreed to the only terms and conditions he was allowed to receive in his said field.

You enter the NFL draft and that's what you accept. When your contract is up you then get to negotiate. You will get paid what they think you are worth to them at that point. If not you have the choice to take it or not. Honor what you signed. He didn't give money back if he didn't play well.

Nowhere does he have 2 sign, or show up. He can sit out at the get go. He wouldn't be the 1st 2 do this.

The NFL is collectively bargained by each team in the league to have a draft. The draft is setup to create parity in the league so the worst teams have a chance. Otherwise Jerry Jones would sign all good players right out of college, have 20 rings by now, and the worst teams after a few years in various cities would probably fold. Without a draft, Pittsburgh might not have a team right now?

I don't know ... you can't overpay for DJ. He is a good player, but his hand are unreliable and he is definitely not a top 10-15 WR in the league. I don't know what money he is looking for right now? He is a really good #2, what price range does that put him in?

with claypool hurting and DJ holding in, we may have to field austin, pickens, miller, gunner, boykin and sims. hows that as a starting lineup? still sounds pretty decent. vaughns and white as well. we have a lot of talent in that room. interesting to watch.

on a side not muth been injured and looks like gentry and rader are taking a lot of reps. haven't heard a thing on sternberger.

Ok cool. His contract doesn't stipulate level of play to relieve money. Do he can go out there, not give his best effort to preserve himmself for next yr, so he can rightfully reach free agency healthy. You have no problem with that right since it's it's about the contract?

He couldn't not go anywhere else to play professional football at the highest level. He choose to go to the nfl but didn't choose to go to the steelers. The steelers picked him.

Do teams honor the contracts they always sign or do they cut players all the time before the contrac they agreed to is up? Always ok for teams to do what's in their best interest but never ok for players.
