LOL They already traded their second-round pick to the Commanders.

The problem with DJ has always been he really shouldn't be the team's #1. He would be fine as the #2. It's not really his fault. The team knows this by the way. That's why they drafted Claypool and later Pickens. Claypool didn't work out and we will see about Pickens.

They have 2 first round picks though, no? Let's send one of those this way haha

Right now they are at #1 and #4. We would put ourselves firmly in the Williams/Maye/Daniels conversation with one of those bad boys lmao

Of course we can agree to disagree. I'm not trying to start an argument over a 5-yard loss. :smiley1:

I just think too many of these discussions with fans here often turn into more of a protecting their side of the argument rather than a real back and forth with people conceding points of either side of the argument and no common ground is found. In other words, some have already made up their minds about Pickett not being good, so they refuse to even acknowledge a good performance. It would be like me trying to say that DJ was horrible in a game where he caught every catchable ball thrown his way for 125 yards with no drops and no penalties. It would be pretty silly of me to say that he didn't play well even if he didn't catch a touchdown.

I fear I agree with you about his head. I wish it wasn't so, but I think it will always limit him.

Its a (kinda) public message board, I don't think that is going to change. People often have too much pride/ego to admit they are wrong or they use the anonymity as a cover for false bravado.

I've enjoyed the back and forth. Hope we have a win to argue about next week ;)

At least DJ gets open consistently, that's more than I can say about our other WR's. About him actually catching the ball, that's quite another thing

The OP is still correct. This perception that DJ has bad hands and a lot of drops simply isn't true. Right now he has 1 for a percentage of 1.8% which is among the lowest in the league. (stat from pro-football-reference.com)

WATCH THE GAMES. He drops passes he should catch. the juice is not worth the squeeze. Khan has LOTS of off-season work to do at WR. his JAX game was plenty of evidence to trade him ASAP before the draft.

I say it al the time, he will forever be linked to that season where he had a ton of drops in 3 games. It’s the Limas Sweed affect.

    Please don’t drop the bean.

Dwight Stone effect more like. ;)

It's not the amount of drops so much as WHEN he has them. He is not a clutch player. I'll happily admit I'm wrong when he finally is. That is, if he also stops running backwards and shows a killer instinct to go after the ball.

In addition to this, we have the drop issues with his altercation with Minkah and his issue last season with Mitch and it's looking even worse

I am not ready to eat my crow just yet. I still think DJ is the best receiver on this team.

Problem is that his attitude has become a huge liability. When I started this thread, DJ seemed dedicated to solving his "drop" issues and being an elite receiver. Now he seems hell bent on being a petulant child.

I will give him the rest of the season to turn it around. I dont mind a drop here or there. But if this attitude continues to hurt the team then it's time for Omar to get something for him while he still can.

I cant really argue with any of this. I still like DJ as a player. In the right circumstance I believe he can be an elite receiver. I'm just starting to wonder in Pittsburgh is the right circumstance. His attitude is hurting the team. If he cant get it together, then a change of scenery may be best for all parties.
