And he would sit on the bench and be worthless in free agency next year

And just when I thought you were catching on

Is DJ next? I was hoping for a 4 year contract for around $80 million., hopefully he is not asking for more than Metcalf.

Metcalf and the Seahawks have agreed to terms on a three-year, $72 million extension with $58.2 million in guarantees, NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo reported Thursday.
Metcalf is also hauling in a $30 million signing bonus, which is the highest in history for a wide receiver, Garafolo added.

He wouldn't be worthless. Someone would be desperate enough to sign him.

Why doesn't it? You keep saying he shouldn't have signed it. What other options did he have not to sign it? Not signing the initial contract would be him giving up what he worked hard for his whole life just because he was drafted somewhere.

If Dionte gets traded our WR corps will take a huge hit. I like Pickens but he is still a rookie. I don’t trust Claypool at all.

I trade DJ of 1 of 2 scenarios; 1: A team makes an offer we cannot refuse; 2: The situation with DJ becomes vitriolic to the point that DJ demands a trade.

I'm not too comfortable with that's behind Pickens and Claypool, let alone their own shortcomings. Granted, Canada likes 2 TE sets and wild formations, but the inexperience at WR will still be there.

I have no idea what DJ will take but I was thinking 2 years/40, with a guarantee of no tag in 2024. Gets a significant raise this year and basically the value of the tag next year. Meanwhile the Steelers can see how the QB and young WR's play out.

Pickens is getting paid more than DJ this year. DJ has seriously outperformed his contract.

So because he had the risk of being offered a contract he didn't like, he should have never entered the drafted, and wanted his life's hard work and talent on mcdonalds?.

Because you keep talking biut oh well he entered the draft and accepted like this many had really any other comparable option.

"He could have gone to McDonald’s or IBM"

What was the reasoning of that statement? Because by saying he could have done that you're essentially implying instead of signing with the steelers he could have worked elsewhere which is no different in saying if he didn't like the terms he shouldn't have signed.

Jeez it’s not that hard to understand bro. If the player doesn’t like the terms/rules that the league has negotiated with players union then he doesn’t have to sign with an NFL team. It’s irrelevant if the player has worked his whole life for the opportunity. I could go into more detail, but it’s not going to sink in for you.
