While the logical mindset would say you are accurate in this statement, the talking heads that most people listen to (whether they make sense or not) will point to the injuries and the (currently) winning record and give MT an A++ for succeeding against adversity. Just sayin.. I don't think he can/will lose his job by anything that happens this season.

this is just one more case in point why MT needs to move on. there are MANY MANY others.

He is arrogant and walks around entitled, has been his MO for 15 years.

It's the Tomlin Doctrine. And it really pisses me off. The fans have been saying this for years and the local media continues to ignore it. I guess those free lunches go along way.

Not only were they taking the Cardinals lightly, I think they were looking ahead to the Patriots game. Belichick has had Tomlin's number in most games. As talent loaded as we were with the Killer B's, the Patriots still destroyed us. I'll bet Tomlin was seeing Belichick in this sleep the Thursday before the Cardinals game.

I don't believe this, how can a team that can't score 20 pts take anyone lightly?
I think Johnson just wants off the team after this year.

How is the media? The players are the ones saying it. Minkah, DJ and Warren all said it. The media can only ask the question. The players are the ones who answer

He is arrogant and carries himself with a sense of entitlement? You just described almost every good football coach I've ever met.

The media can ask if the team took the Cardinals lightly. If I remember correctly, Warren was answering a question like that, as if it was one possible reason why they played like ****. Warren didn't just offer that up out of the blue.

Don't get me wrong. It is coming from the team, but the media helped steer some of them in that direction.

And Cam, TJ, and Tomlin said no, one player doesn't speak for the whole team, the media is trying to bait the players to get a headline for clicks .

Never said one player speaks for the team. But the media can only ask the questions. They can bait all they want, but the players are grown ass men and can answer as they see fit. If the players can't help themselves, that's on them, not the people asking the questions.

The media only has one purpose, to sell headlines.

Judging from DJ’s performance since the start of last season, he either takes the opponents lightly or is overwhelmed by them

You should know that players or coaches don't always admit the real thing

I don't think Warren and Johnson were lying in this situation, especially since the Steelers seemed to be overconfident against the Cards for some reason and it's not the first time this has happened under Tomlin....It's just it was the first time, some players admitted it

It was more than one player who said it and Tomlin, Heyward, and Watt have reason to deny the truth. I don't think Heyward and Watt took them lightly, but I absolutely think far too many of their teammates did.

I cant even imagine being a professional athlete and admitting that you just flat out thought you had it in the bag before you even took the field.

That's so rare in pro sports. I mean we all know it happens, but to admit it is crazy. Especially coming from 3 different guys. Tomlin may not have taken them lightly (although we know he's looked past teams in past years), but he needs to fix that culture in that room that is allowing the players to look past teams. It's his job to snuff that out. It's his job to read the room. It's his job to set the culture. The whole friend thing needs to stop. Be the coach, not their buddies.

he just is not very bright, nor very good.

lots of WR for Khan to do in the offseason. Hope we can trade him at least for a box of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
