    It’s a sad/disturbing combination of both.

That's not the point. Heyward begging for Pro Bowl votes instead of keeping his eye on the prize. Like Brady said he doesn't play this game for Pro Bowls it's to win Championships. That's the different between our group of losers and the Patriots. Having a grand ol time in Orlando while Brady is going to another Super Bowl.

    It is really quite simple
    1. Discipline
    2. Attention to detail.

A comment by Tj this week confirmed my suspicion that preparation during the week is unfocused and does address the week's opponent until late in the week. He said they were lackadaisical in their early weeks prep and that showed up on gameday.

It would also explain why one of the best all around efforts for a game came during the short 3 day week before the Thursday game against the Panthers. On a short week they immediately went into game plan mode instead of wasting practices working on things that might not have been relevant to the opponent that week.

For me, there are are three very painful issues.

    1. What Wardismvp said: Discipline and attention to detail are critical to high levels of success. The Patriots have it and the Steelers don't.

    2. The Steelers used to be a franchise that operated at a high level of expertise. They could compete with other teams that have talent, coaching and discipline. I grieve that the Steelers no longer understand, desire or possess that mindset.

    3. The Pats have discipline, etc. However they are CHEATERS. There are few organizations which can put them in their place. The Steelers used to, but no longer and I don't see any other organization talented, determined and coached well enough to beat them. It really is too bad. They are beatable talent wise. A smart coach could keep up with them. However their cheating keeps them on the mountaintop because none of their peers even challenge.

Isn't that the case just about every season dating back to 2003 though? If not, sure feels that way. I will always love and support my team.

The team I mean... not Tomlin... at least not as much as I have been in the past.

The Patriots lost to 5 non-playoff teams.
If it was the Steelers, there would be fans complaining that the Patriots would never play down to their opponents like that. (Less frequently than the Steelers, but the Pats do it too.)

I will try to find it, it was one of the quotes from the Probowl this week. He might have been referring to his own prep but it sounded more like he was saying in general.

Belicheat really has no equal in the league. McVay has a chance to beat one of the best.

Thanks SDOT.. To me this has larger meaning then what appears on the surface If TJ is suggesting that practicing throughout the week was less intense and soft this may explain why AB has been such a pain the arse. Perhaps his work ethic is such that he feels like the team is not practicing at a high level, and as a consequence playing to the level because of coaching.

Tomlin wasn't cheating. He was just taking a stroll down the field, stretching his legs. His coaching that night proves he didn't know there was a football game in progress at the time.

TJ is not the first to suggest such a thing. Wow who knew the age old saying " you play how you practice " was actually true.

I would never respect a team that are known cheaters. Because the word respect puts them in the same category as the Steelers and the Pats are not that. I’m surprised to read that people on this forum are already assuming that they will tie us. If that were to win then 2 of there SB trophies need asterisk’s next to them with a recording telling why the asterisk’s are there. In the words of Yogi Burra. “ it ain’t over til ist’s over.

I just don't know how I feel about that? I understand it's wrong to cheat but it was against The Cravens and I just hate them so much I can turn a blind eye to that one incident. Screw The Ratbirds!:ratssuck:
