Didn't see today's game. How did Pickett do?

While I want KP to start . What You said is actually false. Only one person was given the chance to start this season. Trubisky. He was the only one who took number one snaps every preseason game . He was the biggest waste of the year.

I keep telling myself ... that, it's canada or the oline or anything else. But, to be honest, I don't see that "oh, he's going to be good" factor. Maybe, it's the scheme or Canada not using Pickett's strengths. He did alot of scrambling ... when ha was at Pitt.

What are you talking about. He won't be a rookie next season. Competent? Remains to be seen.

Some thought Mason was doing the best of all of the QBs during preseason or that at least he was on par with his peers. Mason was the only one that everyone and his sister was dead set against even letting him wear a black and gold uniform. But he wore it and did his job as well at anyone in preseason. This is water under the bridge and doesn't matter now. jMO>

I've said this once, I'll say it again. When you're losing, everything people say about our team or its players, is true. Even if you don't think it is. Got to win to shut people up. JMO>

24 is too old to be a rookie just because we're losing?? That's stupid!

Of course not. But when the two were on the same team together they did....like, this pre season.

Yes he took number 1 snaps and Mason and Pickett played with the second and third stringers.

This is just ridiculous. Nobody is talking about giving him five years to figure it out. I'm guessing he gets two or three before they start looking at alternatives. He would be 26 or 27. You think quarterbacks retire at 27?

6.3 is still terrible. Also if you take away the meaningless last drive when Cincy was in Prevent and he threw 77 yards he would have been in the 5s.

Ben and Mitch did the same crap under Canada so maybe it’s all him and not check down Kenny. If Canada leaves we will find out next year I suppose.

It's rarely just one cause, but I do think Canada had a huge role in the 2nd half failures. The playcalling was atrocious.

    Not all of them

The doom and gloom was still out when we started 11-0

Even I thought we were the worst 11-0 team ever :smiley1:

I’m going to be the Grinch here but I expect him back next year solely because he still has a year on his contract

    Edit

    I did some homework here

The Steelers had 4 Offensive Coordinators in 5 years at the end of the 90’s into 2000

Some of those had to be fired while still under contract

Although that was Dan not Art II and Cowher not Tomlin

QB's, and having a Franchise one...Is the single, most important thing for an NFL Franchise ( that's being proven every game now with Mike the Fraud )

4-5 teams, drafting ahead of us needed a starting QB/ their QB of the future...And, we didn't pick until #20...

Why did so many teams NOT select Pickett? ...

I think it's becoming clearly evident in every passing game... Another terrible Steeler draft pick

Peyton Manning, Troy Aikman, and Josh Allen are just a few elite quarterbacks who started poorly.

Patrick Mahomes started one game as a rookie. Aaron Rodgers didn't start any.

What we are seeing is people like you who didn't like the pick so you are desperate to declare victory way too early in the game. You would rather be right than have the team succeed. I do not understand that thinking.

You're right...Never liked the pick, and I thought very strongly that he wouldn't be good...Not as much as " I told you so, or I was right "

It was more of a, "stupid" pick which should have never been made...By people a lot smarter than me ( Which isn't hard )

This pick will set us back, because we'll have to redraft it... It's not gonna be a " I told you so "... It's gonna be another idk how many more years of stinking...Heyward will be gone, Watt will be old, Minkah... Tomlin probably still here

Dark days ahead ( they're already here actually )

If we got Kenny in the late 2nd or early 3rd it would have been a reasonable pick. He’s not a first round talent. I’m a big Pitt fan also and obviously want the kid to do well and like him just think more than likely he won’t be a legit franchise QB.

Of course it is, but people do think that way. If we were leading our division right now, do you think anyone, except the most hard-core trolls to be found, would say something like this? JMO>

Rookie is a rookie doesn’t matter his age he’s still learning the NFL game. QBs can play into mid 30s which gives us 10 plus years if he proves to be a legit starter. I’m much more worried about his coaching then I am his age.

Excellent point and I stand corrected. I was the same way as well. But I will continue to believe that doom and gloom is directly proportional to number of wins, generally speaking. Even on this board, the number of trolls multiplies more after losses, and likewise they seem to reenter hibernation after wins. JMO>
