I was in the middle of moving so I only caught glimpses of the game. But I was looking at videos on the Steeler page at nfl.com and in the highlight film of the GB game called "Cam Wheaton be the Steelers starting 2nd receiver" In the second segment there is the JJ sack. Impressive.

Now I posted this and a live link in the Zumwalt out Fort in thread but I have a hunch no one will read it since it was old news. Anyway it really was about JJ and also an attempt to finalize the LB's making the final 53. Check it out. There are at least 4-5 excellent videos there in a row leading up to the Buffalo game.

He added much needed weight and I hope strength
to be able to compete. Its all about production.

He had a nice bull rush for a sack. Hope he can keep it up when it matters.

This was about JJ. It was posted in the zum-fort thread. But it belongs here. Since I had hinted that JJ was not a sure fire final 53 player maybe that sparked some incentive.

    1. Just a casual fan here but from last year the players I absolutely would keep are Timmons, Shazier, V. Williams and Moats. Garvin I like a lot, even though he was primarily valuable on ST. So Harrison and a 2015 rd1 pick makes 7. Since there are 12 on the depth chart if they keep 9 two from this group gets it. J. Jones, Spence, H. Jones, Chickillo, S. Green.

I don't think I've seen anything from HoJo or Shayon Green to say they'd displace anyone above them in the depth chart. Yet. That might change if injuries occur.

    2. There is no way in hell they are cutting Jones. It takes OLB normally 3 years to fully get our system and this is year 3.

    3. Jarvis Jones was on the nfl.com highlight film. Is this not what everyone [pro and con] wanted to see? JJ showed toughness and determination and got it done. I'm surprised there are not a lot of threads on this. Was his overall play similar?

The video was the 1st one on the Steeler video page on nfl.com. Titled " Can Wheaton be TS starting 2nd receiver". The address on the page was as follows, but as usual for that site lots of things don't work.

Well, anyway that simplifies the LB situation for me. 1. Harrison, Timmons, Shazier, Moats, V. Williams, Dupree, Garvin, [my initial 7]+ J.J. and Spence.

      HoJo, Green and Chickillo PS.

Hmm! It looks like its back to square 1. I have nine now. What if only 8 are kept?

fort did have a sack and at least one ST tackle after only being here a short while. if williams hamstring and timmons turf toe linger on, i don't see how we can't keep fort around to at least start the season for some depth on the inside. this will have to be monitored for the next two weeks. it could change who and how many lb'ers we keep to open the season.
