Please stop relying on ad hominem arguments when you can't provide evidence to support your opinion.

The evidence has proven that the Earth is not flat. There is no evidence to support the election deniers claims. Neither of those situations are comparable to judging Pickett's motivations, where we do not have definitive evidence.

The far more likely outcome is that Pickett saw that the Steelers had mishandled him from the jump. They allowed him to go through with the tightrope procedure on his ankle to try to rush him back, then didn't let him play. Then they signed Wilson to take his job. He likely saw that as them giving up on him as their long-term answer at quarterback. I certainly hope that is the case, because it would have been incredibly stupid to trade him away for peanuts if they still thought he could be their guy. Was it poor judgement on his part to ask for a trade? Sure, but attributing cowardice to it when you have no evidence to back it up seems like speculative fiction writing on your part.

In all honesty, Fields lost qb1 with his performance against a very depleted Cowboys defense.
Plus we are 20 in scoring
    19 in RZ scoring
    28 in passing

Pickens dropped at least two but thats also indicative of having a poor WR room outside of Pickens and not just a reflection of Fields.

It is simple. You are talking about 2025 and beyond as your argument for Fields. That is putting future concerns ahead of what is best for the current team, so it is fair to say you are talking about playing for 2025 instead of 2024.

I know you have seen the same reports I have, that they promised Wilson the job to get him to sign here. Those reports fit the available evidence, including Pickett's reaction. Do you really think they moved Pickett without having some idea they could get Fields? Especially given how short a time it was between those moves?

There is an advantage to Tomlin not naming a starter yet. It makes the Jets' preparation more difficult.

The long term answer at Qb is not currently on the roster.

No, it is an opinion, one that is not supported by the available evidence. I don't see any attempt at educating anyone here. I just see you lobbing unfounded insults.

Don’t talk for me, ok. It would be obtuse to think I am not talking about both seasons. IMO Fields is the better option this season AND you also find out about 2025. That should have been pretty clear.

He was never officially named the starter, right? Just that he had the poles position. Not the same.

Yeah, Im aware of that. It’s an overblown advantage.

Adam Rank on the NFL Network was saying last night that he thinks the Steelers are sitting Fields so they don't have to give the Bears their 4th pick. I don't know if that is anywhere near the truth, it seems that is farfetched.

    I’ll just leave this here.

I like Khan and think overall he has done a good job but he totally ****ed up with the WR room. Now two more players traded for and still nothing moving on the Steelers end. I get that the Steelers haven’t gotten anything out of Wilson yet but if they were counting on a rookie to be the answer that was a bad idea. Still has time to fix it but clock is ticking.

I’ve seen that, too. Really hope that isn’t the case especially given the Steelers history with 4th rd picks. They probably have a better track record with 6th rd picks.

How many games would Fields have to sit for them to meet that goal?

That seems a bit of a stretch, out of the next 12 games its not hard to imagine he may get the call to start 4 out of possible injury alone. WHo really knows the inner workings of MT's mind, but not sure he thinks that far ahead.

I may be wrong, but i think it's 50% of the snaps, Russ staying healthy starting 8.5 of the remaining games would be the about the mark, could happen but I just cant see that reasoning at this point. If Russ had started the season, got injured and it came down to the last game, I could see them pulling him, especially if PO's were out of the picture.

Yeah not counting the way high passes, the behind the back passes, the under thrown pass, or the pass that Pickens had to role on the ground to catch that easily could have been a td if throw correctly, but yeah. Wrs drop passes. DJ dropped a lot of passes....yet with suck a$$ A. Dalton he has more td than all of our wrs added together.

I seen You, and others leave enough of these for Kenny Pickett to know they aren't very reliable, or have You already forgotten that??? Should I go bring up a few that were put out when Kenny Pickett played, and people were trying to say our Wrs weren't getting any separation. As Pickens said in his interview this week.....separation comes, and by the time some Qbs see it....the Dbs have caught up.

I'm supposed to believe they are pulling him over a 4th round pick, but You wouldn't believe they were starting Trubisky, and Kenny Pickett over Mason because of money, draft picks, and contracts. LoL
LoL. I can't stop laughing. Come on Blast My friend. It nothing more than we are at the very bottom half in passing . Mike is a D coach at heart. He knows how much easier it is for game planning against this type of play. How do You think He has shut down, Cam Newton, and Lamar Jackson.

Except the Steelers D is top 1,2,or 3 all year, and the Broncos were 27th. Big difference
