We are 2 plays away from being 6-0. Pickens one handed fumble on the 3 yard line against the Colts and failure to recover the goal line fumble against the Cowboys.

So I did go back and look and found a bunch of pro Watson posts

One in particular jumped out at me

I’m fairly certain that immediately after I quoted it my account would be “Blasted” from this board

    Just saying

    :dontknow:

That seems to be an odd tangent, but both have the same answer. Leaving was the best thing for my family.

Pickens is fortunate not to have more fumbles… he palms football like a basketball

No, and this is a truly terrible argument. Those guys have proven themselves as elite quarterbacks. Fields proved that he was bad enough that a team that took him No. 11 overall gave up on him after three seasons. See the difference?

I have posted my background on this site before, but I would prefer to shut that particular discussion down here. When discussions focus on posters instead of the team, things tend to go sideways, at least when I'm the poster in question. Thanks.

That isn't why he had so few yards passing. They did need to throw in the first half. He simply couldn't get the job done.

Show me a post of mine when I insisted otherwise about Pickett. You can't because they don't exist.

Of course we need to ride the hot hand. Hopefully, JF continues to evolve as a qb. But, saying that, I hope we draft a qb. One that can sit and learn properly, while we have the luxury of having a starting qb in JF. Im old school, very very rarely should a qb start as a rookie.

He isn't a rookie. He is a veteran in his fourth NFL season and he still throws line drives when a softer throw with a little loft would be complete. Jayden Daniels can do it and he is a rookie. Why can't Fields?

Fastball isn’t nonsense. He seems to throw every throw on a rope. Yes, it is his 4th year, hopefully with the right coaching he can learn to throw with a little more touch. He does throw a nice deep ball.
The fumbling always remains in my head, even though he didnt fumble last game. That int he threw, bad bad pass. So lucky we were gifted roughing the passer on that play.
If that play stood, we would’ve been down at least 7-6 at half and JF passer rating would’ve been 44 at half.

We don't know what would have happened if Pickens didn't fumble. The rest of the game would have unfolded differently. Regarding the fumble against Dallas, that wasn't anybody's failure. It was bad luck that the ball landed so close to Prescott. Either way, relying on a miraculous turnover is a dubious strategy at best. Roberts could try leaping at a running back like that 100 times and he might not be able to do it again. If Prescott doesn't throw even one of his two brain-dead interceptions, that game wouldn't have even been close. They beat the Broncos by seven, so you could argue that they are one play away from being 3-3.

He does and he's great at firing the ball into tight spots, but you are right. He throws everything on a rope. He is in his fourth NFL season. He should have learned how to put a little air under the ball by now when the situation calls for it, but he hasn't.

Trust me. If Fields was playing like this as a rookie, I'd feel good about giving him time to develop. He's not a rookie. Some folks here seem to forget that.

I’m not making a comparison but Bradshaw never took the zip off of it

I forget who the young receiver was but a pass hit him in the middle of his palm and split it wide open

And I think it was Harry Carson who put his hand up to block a pass and it came back down with two fingers broken backwards

Like I said, hopefully we have better coaching in his ear. At this point knowing how to throw with finesse should be natural by now.
Sorta like playing baseball, how to properly turn your glove to catch ball above waist and below waist.

I heard many stories about how strong Bradshaw arm was.
