I loved having Lebeau as DC and appreciate everything he did.

    Now the "but"....

If he was still here, how many of you think Burns, Davis and Hargrave would have contributed as much as they have?

I think he is a defensive innovator who has remained at the top of his craft for an insanely long time. To think where offenses came from when he was a player and starting his coaching career to where the game is today is unreal. Throughout he has changed his style, his strategies, and his philosophies to continue to put high quality defenses together. Nothing but mad respect for him from me

Rookies were getting ore involved when DL was still here.

What everyone fails to realize is there used to be somebody better already on the field. Towards the end, rookies started seeing the field more because there was less in front of them.

This is what I was gonna say. Would we really wanna see Troy giving up time? Da Beard? Snack? Aaron Smith? James Harrison? Ike? Farrior? Peezy? Timmons? Healthy Woodley? I've always said that I thought it was more a matter of rookies being a bit victimized by the greatness of their own teammates as opposed to DL just telling them they weren't gonna play simply because they were rookies and for no other reason.

You guys beat me to it. It's hard to say if they'd get as much time, but who would they be sitting behind? They hit well on this draft, which is great, because they needed to.

We definitely have an improving defense. They are young, but there is no depth. The back ups all have years on the starters (except for the ROLB). Under DL, the opposite was usually true. The young guys didn't see the field because they weren't better than who did.

I think Hargrave would have been in there because The Mountain just doesn't have that nasty edge and is still a huge project. I think Burns would have seen spot duty but never would have taken over a starting position and Davis slightly less but they would have had another vet in their and not just rolled with Golden and Shark
