Bryant, Wheaton, DHB, Miller and Jesse James... lots of talent and potential big plays in that WR/TE corps without AB.

I say let Wheaton take Brown's routes... let Bryant do what he's been doing all season. Move DHB to Wheaton's routes... and Coates to DHB's routes.

With DHB and Todman set to get some big playing time, all that's needed now is for Redman to do a lap of the field before kick off and PWP will literally be in heaven.

But the reality of the matter is... DHB could well be a deciding factor in this game. Not just with making plays, but leadership with the receivers. I've been impressed with his play this year, for sure.

And in that sense, PWP was justified all along with all the hype he was giving him.

I guess nobody realizes how much attention Brown gets which opens up other receivers... lol. With that being said Steelers really play opposite so I'm hopin

Another reason why we should play receivers who can catch and not for there blocking ability. I do like Bly for special teams and a few plays here and there, but if we try to get him the ball 10 times or more we will be hurting.

Again wish we knew what our backup has with Coats because we never played him. The backup running backs surprised everyone, hope that Coats can do the same, just don't see Bly helping much even though he has speed he gets little separation and not the best hands. Someone else needs to come through for us to come out on top.

You could also look at it as they have no clue what our game plan is going to be now and who we are going to focus on.

no no no. Keep Wheaton in the slot, that's where he excels. If anything, either DHB or Coates would sit on the outside.

He needs to have his hands surgically removed and a couple of bear traps installed. He probably still drop the ball.

    Question who is BLY?
also I rather see Shakim Phillips than Sammy Coats. Maybe next year Sammy will be better. He has the tools just needs more confidence

On 3 WR sets sure, but Wheaton should and will be taking Browns role when we are in 2 or 1 WR sets. Wheaton is now our best possession receiver so he will be on the field all the time

Yep you beat me to it and saved me from starting a thread .. I hope Ben is ok and can throw the ball effectively . DHB has a lot of experience and should be able to handle the moment mentally very well . He will have some chances to make some plays and he will need to make most of those for us to have a chance ... One huge advantage with him getting more snaps will be the run game and YAC yardage as he is a great blocker from the WR spot ...Bryant and Wheaton will have to make the most of their plays as well non of them can replace a talent like AB individually they will have to get it done as a group ...

Another advantage should be that Ben will be forced to spread the ball around which I hope keeps him from throwing into double coverage ..

Seemed to work out fine the last time we played them, with AB.

My concern about DHB is - aside from his inability to make tough catches and his tendency to drop, which everyone knows about - his ability to adjust to deep balls. Ben has a lot of faith in him on deep routes, but if it's not a perfect throw, it could be an easy INT, with DHB just running along right past it.

The only real benefit I see to losing AB is that it'll be harder for Haley to telegraph the play by only inserting DHB when a running play is called, or a quick screen to the receiver on DHB's side.

Last game Denver went a lot of man to man and just stayed in their base that is the reason that Brown went off because there was no double coverage . Bryant had a very good game they couldn't guard him either and Wheaton also had a nice game .. I do not expect Denver to play the same way , I think they will double Bryant and if they do DHB and Wheaton plus the running game will have to step up ..

I hope Ben and DHB are on the same page with the deep ball if Ben can even throw it ? The main problem is Ben waits to long to let it go so the timing needs to be cleaned up for sure ...

My thing about DHB in this game is the fact that I highly doubt Ben will be able to throw it deep so I really hope DHB and Martavis can actually run routes. If we run that stupid quick out play to Martavis over and over I won't be surprised if we wind up giving up a pick 6 for that play.

If they did that I would so run a fake off that play. Have Ben act like he is throwing it to Bryant on the WR screen out of the triple bunch formation. Have everyone sell it hard, Bryant acts like he catches it Heath and DHB block like they mean it and have Ben just tuck it into Todman and let him run like a jackrabbit.

I don't really think DHB is going to be a huge factor. He has only caught like 4 passes the past 9 games. Our best factor is gonna be our two RB's, Toussaint and Todman. They both not only got their first real game action last week, but in a Hostile playoff game. In the first Denver game, we only ran the ball 14 times ( All Williams )...and he was a total non-factor for only 28 yards. But last week Todman and Toussaint ran it 28 times. That kind of total could help dramatically in keeping any all-out pass blitzes at Ben.

I don't suspect they will have the same success against Denvers D...but you never know. Toussaint was HUGE with his 4 receptions out of the backfield. And Todman's speed and explosion clearly caught Cincy by surprise. I think those two will be a huge key for us if we're going to SHOCK the football world this Sunday.

Yeah, they'll have to use their speed by running a deep route, then cutting and running all the way back, catching the 5 yard shovel pass, and then sprinting off again.

The DBs will literally not know where to be.

Whether he's comfortable throwing it long or not, I wonder if Ben will put the ball deep early on - maybe even a deliberate overthrow - just to keep Denver guessing.
