Yep. Haden also wasn’t sat on his couch half the season like Bryant has been.

More bad luck for us. There are 4 teams playing at a high level in the whole NFL and were scheduled to play 3 of them and already lost to one.

Now of the other two, the Saints will have time to get Dez up to speed before we play them. When we play the Evil Empire, no doubt they will be at full strength and not Gronk-less.

    Dang.

I’ve seen a few posts on the drama and how Tomlin has control. BS, this is one of the most stable teams.

How do you know we didn’t kick the tires on Dez?

AB campaigned to sign Dez. I brought it up many times. I guess we will see.

Because I did research and could not find any indication that we did.

Apparently he turned down a mult year offer from the Ravens, and the Browns.

Maybe he just doesn’t like the AFC North.

I think he wants to play for a SB contender. Brown and Ravens probably aren't. We are, or would be, if we had a WR3.

Of all the things that would mark us as contenders, a 3rd WR is pretty far down the list imo.

I disagree. It's in the top 3 for me - and arguably 2nd most important after another CB.

    1. CB2 opposite of Haden
2a. WR3 to replace Hunter or Washington
2b. ILB - though Bostic has been doing w
    3. Another pass-rushing OLB to compliment Watt/Dupree
    4. More dependable kicker/punter
    5. DT depth

That doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. If it wasn’t for the tweet earlier you wouldn’t have had any idea that the Steelers contacted the defensive end.

A washed up WR who brings plenty of baggage into the locker room of a contender?

It’s definitely a risk. It may end up planning out, but I don’t think that we need to be beating the Steelers up for not having interest in him. Especially since we reportedly offered Bruce Irvin more money than he just signed for in Atlanta (but he chose his hometown team). So apparently we aren’t sitting on our hands like people think.

I think we need a Bruce Irvin (who would have only been a situational wave rusher, at best) than a Dez Bryant who would have easily started as WR3 and been on the field most offensive snaps.

Did you mean "more than a Dez Bryant"? or "and a Dez Bryant"?

As another poster noted in the BI thread... we've no idea what conversations the FO had during "trade week" but I would certainly prioritize D over O. Do we have a stud WR3? Of course not but we've got ok depth IMO and I'd rather see them roll with that and give Washington the reps to get Ben's trust.

This. We don't need him, we have enough weapons already & the rapper will be back.

We will see. I’m all for adding talent, I just don’t know how much game Dez has left. I am not sure that he’d be a lock as our #3 at this point. Maybe he would’ve been. Who knows. I think the Dez’s baggage probably has us shying away from him.

Hell man he is a rookie, playing beside 2 all pro's and an all pro running back.

Yeah at least Martavis could get separation, Dez couldn't get open and he was dropping too many passes no thanks.

I see Dez as a Bolden type, can highpoint a ball and go get it. I think he will be a big redzone threat for the Saints. How are you going to defend Kamara, Thomas, Ingram and Dez? With Breese as the QB? Thats a nightmare for any DC.

I think its a good move by them.

The price is right at lease. If it works they look like geniuses. If not, it’s league minimum. Just depends on what he has left
