1 year suspension and the Browns go 6-11 this season with Josh Dobbs. Baker Mayfield gets traded.

do we need to go over this stuff every few years when some player gets himself in trouble. In a criminal trial the prosecutors must prove that the defendant committed a crime or risk attaching jeopardy to a case that doesn't yield a sure conviction. there is a lot of grey area around this case and it would be easier for Watson's legal team to present reasonable doubt and force a favorable outcome like the OJ criminal trial. Civil court has a lower burden of proof and the plaintiffs lawyer don't need to prove he did it beyond a reasonable doubt like criminal trials do. His legal team was skillful enough to convince him to settle otherwise he can be deposition where anything can be asked, may not get answers but they can be asked and then the court of public opinion starts. Civil trials would have raked him across the coals. Whether he broke the law or not is secondary to his being a predator and these women being placed into an environment that they felt threatened in. If my daughters were massage therapists and some guy whipped off his towel and said well it aint gonna suck itself, I'd have the bastard arrested.

I've seen several people ask the question why didn't he just pay for it or that he is a good looking young man, I'm sure he could get a woman to do anything he wanted. To those questions I say do you people not watch TV? If he paid for it there wouldn't be the same thrill he got from that first time he got a massage therapist to lick his lollipop. It has less to do with the "happy ending" and more to do with the thrill. This is why some of us say that its great that Vick says he has changed and he loves dogs and all animals but we also know that for someone to be that cruel with an animal, that doesn't go away, when you get a taste of that you want more. Its addiction and in Watson's case he isn't addicted to sex, he is addicted to the situation where he sees these women give in to his base desire. He could pay for it and it would never give him the thrill that his power over them gives him. Even with all this publicity I will bet dollars to dimes that he has already researched the Cleveland area and has his hunting ground staked out.

I think Watson is in the clear on this one. I don't think the Table can be Plaintiff #31

Although I would love to see The Table vs Deshaun Watson as an SNL sketch.

I know the standard is lower in a civil case.

Settling in a civil suit doesn't always mean admission of guilt, it can just mean you want it to go away. He has more to lose by letting it drag out, guilty or not.

I understand having him step away until it is all sorted, and it looks like there are more allegations so it may be longer for him.

But like I have said before, if he goes through all this and isn't found guilty of anything in a criminal or civil case, why should he have a year long suspension waiting for him?

I really don't care about court of public opinion. The mob is as fallible as anyone. Nothing has been proven in a court of law yet.

    Now for the crazy Question.

What is the league going to do to the Texans as the number of lawsuits against them starts climbing? Suspend them?

I think it will greatly depend on the outcome of the hot mess the Washington Commanders has become. If they make a ruling on that before concluding that the Texans knew about Watsons behavior and did nothing or covered up what he had done it will provide a precedent for what will happen to the Texans.

Either way we should all be prepared for a long season of social awareness programs pushed by the league in attempt to reshine the tarnished shield and look not only inclusive but also a place where women are welcomed in all facets of the game.

How I think this should go down:

Watson indefinite suspension min 1 year
Texans: loss of all draft capital gained in the Watson trade and the GM suspended 1 year
Browns: GM and owner suspended 1 year

Take away draft picks and fine the team like they did with the Patriots. After all, they learned their lesson.....
