When a guy like that becomes available, you put your best foot forward and try to acquire him. You hope to hell to get a guy like that with the 1.1 in the draft, which isn't a pick were going to have anytime soon. How many QB's have we seen taken with a top 5 pick only to not really pan out? Even the guys that have panned out aren't anywhere near Watson

    Goff
    Winston
    Jamarcus Russell
    Bradford
    Vince Young
    David Carr
    Joey Harrington
    Tim Couch
    Ryan Leaf
    Mariota
    Trubisky
    Darnold
    Rosen

That's just off the top of my head and I believe all were top 5 picks. The list goes on and on. The number of QB's drafted in the 1st round who didn't pan out heavily outnumber the ones who did turn into something special. And in todays NFL, you really do need a special QB if you want to win it all.

If the numbers can work somehow, then yes, the Steelers should make a strong offer to get Watson, assuming Houston agrees to trade him, which I have my doubts they will. A guy like that solves a lot of the issues surrounding a rebuild

So when WRs or RBs cause a stir on the team ...get rid of them, but when a Qb that's just gotten a big payday does...let's go get Him???

The Texans have given Watson reason to want out. He has seen poor management ruin what was a decent team around him. I can understand him wanting to play elsewhere. It's not like he is quitting on the team, making an ass of himself in public, or any of the other crap like Antonio Brown or Le'Veon Bell.

When he becomes available..you try and acquire him..OK I agree with that, you make the call and get the initial asking price, then you assess your current situation and say no thanks, no can do. You cannot do it for several reasons and those are the very thing that got Houston in this mess to begin with. You trade all of your top picks for several years, his cap hit makes it impossible to resign your own players and now you have crap talent surrounding your QB.

Even with all the potential holes and cap problems for the Steelers next year, they have a core group of really good players on D, and even a few on O. It takes far less time to rebuild and become a contender with that core and draft picks, than trading those picks away and getting one player who then makes it impossible to keep those core players in the future.
