NFL.com is reporting the Cheifs will not resign Derrick Johnson. Any interest? I know he's an older player, but I think he still has a lot left in the tank. He may not be that expensive either. Probably wouldn't mind coming here for a chance at a ring.

Not in favor of an older player coming in at age 35. And he has injury baggage. Might as well bring back Timmons. Both will be liabilities in any coverage schemes. Need a young gun picked high that can make an immediate impact whether stoning a running back or taking on a TE.

If the price was right, however I wouldn't let his acquisition change our draft plans too much. It would buy us time if we didn't like anyone this year or next. When healthy he is still a stud.

You gotta be real keen with the Patriots Defensive rebuild that’s gonna happen.
You almost have to steal players from them in the draft that they may be interested in for D.

Whoever builds the better D will win AFC.

This is what I was thinking. If you can get DJ at a reasonable price, sign him. Then spend an early pick on the position. This way you wouldn't have to start a rookie day one if he's not ready. When he is ready he can replace Vince Williams. Now you have depth at the position.

Please tell me where the money is coming from to sign all these guys. The Steelers have enough to what they need to. I doubt we see one significant FA mainly because we simply don’t have the cap space.

You think the same exact way as the Steelers FO, which is be patient ,don't screw up the so called core while winning will come at the right time. ...While billicheat will trade away his kids if he could add more sb titles , he couldn't care less about core or draft .

Yeah I hear ya. But this is different. Johnson may actually be a fit here. He's the leader of KCs defense, something the Steelers desperately need. He calls the defensive signals. He is a high character guy, and he plays a position we are in desperate need of upgrading. I think DJ is a more realistic option than Butler or Foster.

You may be right if he comes cheap and we draft a guy as well maybe he can tutor him. The more I look at it the more he might be what we need since we are in the market anyways. The market isn't very big Bowman, Zach Brown, Davis are pretty much our options unless they plan to open their wallet then Hitchens, Williamson and Preston Brown are in play.

As for Butler and Foster, they are not options!

I'd be scouring the CFL waiver wire before I allowed Spence to start at ILB next season.
