This has to be the most lopsided debate in the history of debates. Moye has two sinking career receptions. There's no logical aurgument for him. This is pretty much just a waste of internet space and people being stubborn.

Geez, Glenn, as I said before nobody's saying he's the second coming of John Stallworth. I don't think it's illogical at all to discuss whether or not Moye got his fair share of opportunities in the red zone while he was on the active roster. In case you haven't noticed, the Steelers have struggled with RZ efficiency for years now so it makes sense to ask the question. WHY KEEP A 6'5" WR ON THE ACTIVE ROSTER AND THEN NEVER USE HIM IN THE RED ZONE?

I agree that we disagree. Your the one being stubborn by repeating saying he has two catches. Your missing the point, we just don't think he got a fair shake and with our front office evaluation of players lately I not confident I what they are doing. Also in case you didn't know we stink in the red zone we got to do something different,

Yep, but he took up a roster spot for the entire season last year. You'd have thought we could have found an opportunity to throw him a jump ball or two throughout the course of the season. We obviously had red zone struggles last season so it would have been nice to see what Moye could have done against a few 5'10" DBs.

He was an underdog who showed a lot of heart. I get why people were bummed about his release.

If this guy had gone to Georgia or Oregon or oklahoma St, his release would not have spawned a lengthy thread.

Has nothing to do with Penn State, it's about the player.

Can't speak for others, but I'm in the debate because he's 6'5" and we failed to use him in the RZ, not because he went to Penn State.

Thats what it's all about, we failed to use him in the red zone at 6' 5" not where he played or not that he caught 2 passes because he was only thrown to 3 or 4 times... And I don't trust the system lately to make good talent decisions. They have missed more then being right lately. Also don't see how anybody can say at this point that Wheaton, JB, or Moore, are all better options at this time.

I don't understand your point? What does this year have to do with last year? Cotch is almost as tall and had 10 TD's, should we have sat him to get Moye more reps? And Sanders was our number 2, not going to sit your number 2 to throw an occasional jump ball to a guy who couldnt even make the squad this season. Speaking of this season, they guy he couldn't beat out, JB, is also nearly as tall.

There's not like there was an opening for Moye and they just let him ride the pine.

And for those who asked, he has 2 drops.

Maybe in 2 or 3 years Wheaton will be something. But right now, we are talking about Moye versus J Brown, DHB, LM, and other has beens. The commonality is they suck. Other than AB and Heath, they suck. Look at who the Broncos have. In fact there are several teams who have far more depth than we do. I'm doubting that Moye will become a 1 or 2 receiver for any other team. Let's hope Bryant can be a quick learner.

The point is we suck in the red zone this year and we cut a 6' 5" receiver who I think didn't get a fair shake. What else do you need to know?

So you're just going to ignore the fact that a lot of this debate was why he didn't get a fair shake last year?

As for this year, your 6'5 receiver couldnt even beat out JB who is nearly as tall. Heath isn't exactly short either, one thing to question JB but Moye isnt qualified to wipe Heaths ass, even at this stage of his career. I don't think Will J is short either, hes also better then Moye.

Blast, you make no sense here, who said anything about Heath? Have yet to see JB go up for a ball yet or even make a tough catch yet. We know JB beat out Moye this year but I also don't think Moye got the same chances as JB. And your right he should of got some more chances last year to see what he could do. You do remember we weren't world beaters last year and I know Cotchery had 10 TD, but where is he now, and we kept Moye on the roster all year. I would not have hurt last year to see what he had and what he could do.

Do you really think Will J is a better receiver? You are kidding right!

Moye had almost 2 1/2 years to get his "fair shake" ,I think he got it!

Will Johnson has 24 receptions and 4 TD 's in the same amount of time Moye was on the team.

WOW! Ok, lets try this again. We'll start with last season. Cotch was our #3, he hauled in 10 TD's, would you have liked to sat him to get Moye some snaps?

Moving on to this year. You seem to be upset that Moye, who is 6'5 wasn't used in the redzone, I countered with Heath who is also 6'5 and LIGHT YEARS ahead as a receiver.

And yeah, Will J is absolutely a better receiver then a guy who just got cut. Moyes mythical status is growing by leaps and bounds during this thread.

These guys idea of a fair shake is lots of game time with the first team.
Sorry, but you make your bread In practice. If you show enough that your a better option than others you move up the depth chart.
This isn't amateur hour. Can't just parade every PS guy in during real games just to give him his so called fair shake.

Nobody is trying to make Moye moye than he is, Blast (did you catch that?). He could have been better utilized, at least more often utilized, in the red zone last year and wasn't. I think it would have been pretty cool to have two 6'5" receivers in the red zone but Tomlin and Haley chose not to use Moye after he dropped the pass against the Bengals. You're right about Cotchery though, he actually turned out to be our best RZ threat last season even though our RZ efficiency was still inadequate.
