Carr may have a season-ending shoulder injury. Should change their draft priorities.

I bet If he wanted, Brady could have played to 50. Some team would have taken him.

Interesting start for Kellen Moore and staff. They have an aging defense and if they lose Carr for the season, a young QB room.

The rumors were that they were already interested in Sanders before this news came out.

I am mostly indifferent to Rodgers. If he comes to the Steelers, great, hope we do well. If he does not, I look forward to seeing if we ride or die with Rudolph or trade up to get a top 5ish pick. I just don't want to see the drama that always seems to surround Rodgers. I don't have any real hopes pinned on making a deep run this season. I don't think that we have the needed coaching to make a run at the titles. We are starting to remind me of some other teams (Browns, Titans, Broncos....etc) that just can't seem to get it done no matter how many perfect pieces in the puzzle they have.

I never want the Steelers to tank or play for a high draft slot, but I do think that the changes we need may only come from a bad season that causes some serious self reflection at upper management levels.

And? There have only been 7 QBs taken #1 that have gone on to win a SB as a starter. This team needs more than just a QB.

Pretty much agree on the Rodgers part, but in reality, we are in no place to trade up for a top 5 pick and is there really a QB in this class worth that risk? While there are times you draft an immediate impact player, or (as some teams have done) get immediate starters in the middle rounds, the draft is still to build for the future. Can we make a play off run with Rodgers, more likely with him than without him, it the goal is to get one play off win then go for it. In getting that one potential win, what else have you done to improve the team for an extended window? We will never tank, but their method of fixing issues year in and out has not brought any change. the staleness of being just good enough is ole and tired.

Like yourself I’ll go either way if Rodgers does/does not sign

But since I also don’t see a deep run I actually think the Rodgers drama would at least make the season interesting

I personally don't want Rodgers, as I don't believe he has enough left to make a difference in the teams outcome. The drama he brings is not worth it and I don't think it would do the team any good in the short or long term.
I believe the feelings of the majority of the posters lean towards Tomlin leaving (by his own choice or managements), and I think a change in leadership is needed. The Rodgers drama train would put the focus on Rodgers alone, and not the teams shortcomings.

I'd prefer they go with Rudolph, possibly sign Wentz as competition, and draft a QB (Howard or Shough, I don't think Dart gets to them) and play it out. The only way they should tank is if they get to the last 3-4 games with a dreadful record and no chance to make an impact on the playoff picture.

Keep building the team this year with good prospects/team players
and get your QB in next years draft.

If the Saints draft a QB at #9 overall, it won't have much to do about Carr, other than they were planning on Carr for this season. The draft pick would happen because they don't trust their QB room.
I don't think the Saints are planning on Carr after the 2025 season anyway. They have Rattler and Haener. If Moore still likes the room I don't think he goes QB at 9.
