Bubby Brister was also a two-time Super Bowl champion. Was he also a badass? :)

It isn't easy to demonstrate what made Hampton a badass with numbers, but most of us watched him. We know it.

Wish we had Hampton in is prime at NT. Steelers wouldn't give up 200+ yards to an average Vikings rushing offense. Steelers D minus Watt, Heyward and Fitz blows chunks.

    A big if. BIG.

Yes Wormley is not Tuitt but to poo poo his efforts last season? His numbers were pretty solid.

I want to see #91 as anyone would. Playing not sitting out another season. Only time will tell.

    The Tuitt situation doesn't matter.

When 2 out of 3 of your defensive line is in their 30's...and there is a lineman you like in round 3, you take him

I hope Leal isn't sacrificing quickness by adding weight. Beyond that, I hope the guy can play and raise hell against the run game. More than anything else, watching them get gouged for big ground gains last year really sucked.

As far as how this relates to Tuitt, I am moving forward with the belief that he won't be here. So, whether it's Wormley or Lowdermilk or some other "nameless gray face", they better find some bodies that can help out greybeards Heyward and Alualu.

I'm simply calling Wormley what he is, a mediocre starter or a very good backup. The Steelers suffer a significant drop-off in the pass rush and the run defense if he is playing instead of Tuitt.

this is the final from 2020. just some breakdown of the film. tuitt is also playing. which was his best year to date. many hate stats, which don't always tell the whole story but they can give you a show of production. 2020 was tuitts best year. 2021 was wormley's best year with a lot fewer plays played for wormley. tuitt had 4 more sacks in his best year, but wormley had more tackles.

there are the numbers in black & white. make your own decision. mine is wormley ain't that bad compared to tuitt. sure i'd rather have tuitt healthy and his mind right starting, but we don't drop off that much in production when he isn't. wormley plays special teams too.

Its always a positive to add to the trenches I agree but I feel the Tuitt situation was in play here as well.

The biggest question with Leal is whether he can become and stay highly motivated consistently, game in and game out, play in and play out. Because the talent is certainly there. So it's really a matter of whether you believe the Steelers, as a whole, can help him do that. What do you think?

I can only put this one other way....
Do You believe stats show everything that Hines Ward brought 2 this team????
I looked at the stats, and there is a lot of things in playing DE, and help winning that those stats don't cover.....a lot.

Love the new signature. You remind me of the Doctor House from the TV show.

Let's say there was no issue with Tuitt, and your NT and other DE are both in their mid 30's and there is a DL in round 3 you like.......are you not taking him?

Possibly not. An ILBer could have been in play there. Very thin at that position and I feel that Bush will not be on the roster next season unless he takes a Edmonds deal

Leal will not be playing the nose position. They resigned Adams and Davis is still on the roster with Alualu starting.

He is a DE. Competing with Loudermilk and Wormley.

I still stand that the Tuitt mystery was in play. You don't. Simple as that.
