I just happened by deljcz's screen name in another thread. He was always one of my favorite contributors. I know he used to blog a lot, but I haven't heard anything from, or about, him recently. Does anyone have any information? It sure would be nice to have him on board.

Wonder if Del knows he has a groupie  Just kidding. Yeah he and a few old time posters never made it here. KevDude is another one but he never even made it to the old board this season, maybe banned or just trouble with that pile of garbage over there.

I am not a "groupie" of anyone's myself but when I could not post over "there" for ten years or so, I also enjoyed his threads/ posts. I hope he is back here, too and posting.

I used to enjoy his debates with TSS. They would go at it like a couple trying the earn some good makeup sex.

I tried to fill that void by starting fights with macdaddyo, cajunyankee and scottchab, but it just isn't the same. :(

Hey TTF, quick side question, how long do I get to keep my Solid Steel Picks badge of honor thing?

Yes, they were the best. When I first joined here I made several posts about getting both of those guys and a few others over here. Now that TTF confirmed Del's signed up I wonder if TSS is as well ? If so maybe we can stir the pot a little between both of them to trigger some posts :hehehe:

and here I am thinking I always win....LOL

What made those debates so worth reading is that they are BOTH very knowledgeable but differ in they're approach with TSS being almost too positive and Del being too negative and both being stubborn articulate writers.

Yes, TSS has us going to the SB every year and lays out all the details on why / how it's gonna happen LOL! I miss Del's salary cap analysis write ups. I swear that guy new more than anyone on how the cap works and the Steelers position versus the cap right down to every player all the time.

    I'm here but not here.

I'm mostly over at Steeler Nation board now (am I aloud to say that?), but I agree it's not the same as the good ole Steelers.com message board. This isn't quite the same either (no offense). Can't really find a home I'm comfortable with yet. I'll try to check in here more often and see what I think of the conversations.

And yes, I miss most of the gang from the old steelers.com crowd and those I had heated debated with.

My old, old Sporting News blog is long gone, but I started a new one this summer through Google:

    http://www.deljzc.blogspot.com

Feel free to check it out.

As many of you know, I don't do much yapping during the season anyhow, preferring to watch how the season unfolds entirely before making strong comments and opinions. I'm an off-season guy at heart and most of my heated debates happen then. My blog should pick up this off-season as well with draft analysis, salary cap analysis and statistical analysis of our season.

I'll see if I can find time to do a salary cap analysis like I used to. Some of the information is harder to find on the internet since the new CBA.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words above.

Hey Del thanks for dropping in. I read your article. Nice write up. Hopefully you'll be able to visit more frequently. While not there yet I think this board is getting a little closer to the old Steeler.com board with each passing day so keep coming back and stay awhile

Totally agree with that. Other people have great arguments too, but Del & TSS always have the exact same theme to them, covering a wide range of topics.

However, they weren't exactly bipolar of each other. Del is generally pessimistic, but not on the same crazy level that TSS is optimistic. Del is pessimistic/realistic, whereas TSS is optimistic/unrealistic (15-1 and a Super Bowl title every year, with the 1 loss being week 17 when we rest our starters). I like to think of myself as optimistic/realistic.

To all - I had a chance to check out deljzc's blog. Very interesting. Especially the comments made after after we "beat" the colts and all the resulting negative energy from steeler nation that followed that game. Also insightful to read about Colbert's, Tomlin's and BA's background & biographies and how it's perhaps contributing to our very inconsistent offense, especially in the running game. To all of us who have used this smilie :frustrated: more often than we thought possible over the course of this season, it's an enlightening read.

Go back a few weeks to a thread about Sepulveda and you'll find some not-so-kind words from me :roflmao: You can even search for it! :o

I encourage you to give this site a good chance. Come on back and let it grow on you. To me it really is as close as one can get to the old "official" site. Really, the only differences are the thousands of improvements, and the only thing missing is you and TSS. Almost everyone else is here, along with those that were never allowed to sign up. Plus the numbers are getting high enough that leaving your blog url as a signature would net you many more followers, I'm sure.

One bad game against one of the most beastly pass rushers in the NFL. Aldon Smith isn't even a starter and I think he racked up double digit sacks.

You're grasping at straws, mac! I'm no Starks fan and I never was, but to say he hasn't outperformed Scott by a mile or two is just silly.
