    My guess is that because Decastro was expected to go higher, his agent wants more guaranteed money than the #24 would normally get. Crabtree did the same thing in SF, felt like he deserved more money because he was ranked by many as the top WR in the draft, even though he wasn't the first WR actually taken.

    That's supposedly what the new rookie wage scale was designed to prevent, holdouts over money. I think the issue is how many years are fully guaranteed. Reiff's contract only guarantees the first 3 years. That's what DeCastro's agent should expect too, and with both the pick before and the pick after already setting the bar, it's time to get DD signed and in camp.

    Like I said, I bet the agent is pushing for guaranteed money closer to what #15 - 20 are getting, since that's where he was expected to be drafted. They won't get it, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's what the delay is.

    I dont think anyone can push for anything now...especially since he is now boxed in with 23/25 signed. Its only a matter of hours before its done I'm sure.

    i just read an article stating decastro is now signed to a contract that is 4 years said after detroit lions sign there guy now decastro has signed his deal with pittsburgh steelers if i could link or paste the link i would but it is on offical steelers website i have feeling soon mike wallace will get his long term contract soon i just know he will

    Deal was worth just over $7.2 Mil, with a 5th year option included for the Steelers. Contract includes a $325K 4th year roster bonus & a $100K workout bonus in the 4th as well. No 4th year money guaranteed.
