    :clapping::herewego:

    If he's not activated by 3 weeks from today, he will go back on IR. I think we ease him back in and keep him off the field unless there's a serious injury.

    Ok, you partly answered a question I was wondering about regarding the impact roster-wise.

    I'm assuming he is practicing while still on this special IR and is not taking up a roster spot? With all the signing or WRs and QB's and cutting Baron Batch, etc, etc. I wouldn't think they would be screwing around a roster spot for DeCastro this week, since he ain't gonna play Sunday.

    He is not taking up a spot on the 53 man roster during the 3 weeks.

    Well that's good, maybe we will get to see him before the end of the season. If he plays he better do well, I've been impressed how well Ramon Foster has played so far.

    Yeah, season ending. Thanks.
    Right, the "designated for return" is a roster exemption that stays in effect until 21 days from the day he returns to practice.

    He made all of his starts at Stanford at right guard, like faneca he is a natural guard so dont screw him up by experimenting with putting him at tackle, he still needs to be slow practiced untill his knee is strong enough for him to start, maybe give him a start later, but right now I see no reason to rush him untill he's absolutely ready to go....

    Just keep him away from Gilbert we don't need him falling on him and injuring him.

    I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play for us at all this year, barring injury. He was going through the typical rookie struggles in camp, so he's probably very rusty as well as behind on his development. Also knowing how Tomlin approaches the game with his status quo attitude, I don't see Decastro stepping in unless there's an injury

    Like I mentioned in a post about a month ago, I asked the same question, I think
    it is quite possible next year that they could try him there. hell what do they have to lose?

    I agree with everybody that's saying he's probably only gonna play if there's an injury. I think for the most part we are doing alright without him. I think we are all amazed that we can say that though. I guess the reasons for that are debatable but imo it's Haley's system that's making our line look better than they really are. I don't care what's making them look better I just care that Ben is not getting killed every down and running for his life.

    no, he's sitting out for his life, because the leftside of his line couldn't block one guy. by the way that's two qb's down now. i think the defenses are thinking quality, not quantity. most will be amazed by the help DD can give us. if he can get out to the edges and upfield he will help. that's alot to ask on a newly repaired knee. he will have to be able to cut upfield. at least gilbert won't be laying on him. i'd definately try him at LG if he can go. i said it before, colon should be at RG if anywhere,but foster is playing pretty good over there.:cool:
