anyone gonna be upset if he gets #52. I dont think we have had one since webster. I am not sure on that, but I think it is sad. Mike was one of my favorites growing up. I know we dont retire numbers much and there have been so many great players you cant retire all of them. I hope he knows what a honor it would be

    I'd bet my last Dollar..52 won't be worn again....or 75, 58, 59, 32, 12...... They'll give him Kemo's old number

I'm with you. That Jersey's probably in a locked glass case somewhere in the back of the equipment room ;)

I doubt they let him have #52. But, I hope he plays like Iron Mike did.

I don't even think he'll ask for it. Why would he want #52 when he probably wants his own legacy to make us discuss whether someone 30 years from now might take HIS number?

Teams should not retire numbers. Unless you think the NFL is going to go out of business is the next few decades, you will have to start having 3 digit numbers so there will be enough numbers available. If you want to say it is retired until the player passes away out of respect for them, OK. If Double D wants 52, give it to him.

Hmmmm, difficult question. We can't retire all the numbers from the great teams of the 70's or there wouldnt be any left. Gotta let 'em go sometime. I just hope they keep #12 out of the rotation.
